Grass-fed beef has many more health benefits than only omega 3 fatty acids.

Timestamps:
0:00 Grass-fed beef has significant health benefits in addition to high omega 3 fatty acids
0:41 Grass-fed products have more CLA which acts as an antioxidant in your body
1:05 Grain-fed, which usually means soy and corn, are GMO
In this video, I will describe the many benefits of grass-fed beef (as well as other grass-fed animal products) that have significant health benefits. Many people think the only benefit is the omega 3 fatty acids, but there are many more.
Having said that, grass-fed animal products do have about five times as much omega 3 fatty acids as do products from grain-fed animals. Not to mention that grass-fed products have lower amounts of omega 6 fatty acids, which are more inflammatory.
Grass-fed products also have more CLA, a type of healthy fat that acts as an antioxidant in your body. There are more vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals. As well, there are more antioxidants such as carotenoids.
But my big point is that grain-fed usually means soy and corn, which are GMO. This means they’ll contain glyphosate residue which grass-fed usually doesn’t, especially if it’s organic.
Twenty times more glyphosate residue is allowed in animal feeds than in plants directly consumed by humans. This means you get a lot more residue when you consume grain-fed animals. Glyphosate residue is cumulative over time. It really messes with your microflora; your friendly gut bacteria, impeding their ability to make protein and to detoxify. I put a link below for more information.
More grass-fed beef and other products are becoming available in stores, especially the big box stores, making these products more affordable. Always buy grass-fed beef, not grain-fed!

As someone who has suffered from digestive issues for years related to glyphosate, this video was special for me (and those who have watched me struggle with this issue). I can't tell you how many times I was ridiculed (even by doctors) for pointing to Round-Up as the problem with my digestive issues. I read a study that analyzed some serious digestive issues that pigs were having and the likelihood of glyphosate on their feed being the problem, _years_ ago. That study convinced me I was experiencing a similar problem as the pigs. Everybody laughed. I quit wheat, then eventually all grains. The difference was measurable. I do not know how much permanent damage eating food in the US did to my system. But I have been living in Europe for some time now, and the country in which I live does not allow Glyphosate use. It is banned. ALL meat, dairy and butter here is from grass-fed animals. The difference has been remarkable. I am second guessing about whether I should return to the States when my work is finished here, or if I should stay on just for better health.

Even though I know this is for information, it should be said that even if you can't get organic stuff commercial meat will suffice. A person curious about Keto might think "I can't do Keto, conventional meat is bad and I can't get organic". Keto and fasting, even with commercial meat, will be a hell of a lot better for a person than giving up before they start and eating the modern western diet.

Hence the need to avoid CAFO raised meat if your gut bacteria are not up to the task of processing the dietary toxins. For others, avoiding oxalates, lectins, phytates, etc. is necessary, due to their depleting minerals and vitamins.

I have viewed other bvlogs and learned that choose grass fed meat all the way through from beginning to end. Or else, the last six to nine months may be fed with grains or molasses to fatten the animal up and the good nutrition like Omega 3 decrease while Omega 6 is increased in the meat. So read the label carefully. Very informative! Thank you!

Here's a tip for finding reasonably priced grass fed. If you have farmer's markets where you live be sure to ask the meat vendors about their meat. At my local farmers market one of the meat vendors doesn't advertise his meat as grass fed but I asked him about it and it's 100% local grass fed and finished beef. Another stand where I asked proudly said there beef is grain fed (old fashioned thinking there). And the prices they charge are about the same!! So it pays to ask!

There is a labeling loop-hole. Grass-fed label requires the cow to eat 'grass' for 1 day only. This happens in a controlled enviroment (feedlot) and the grass is ground-up dry corn stalks since the plant itself is considered a grass. They seperate the kernel part from the grass part and call it 'grass'. The animals never see anything green their entire life. Maybe when they're born outside somewhere nice....

Go to a local Co-op or visit a farmer's market and ask around for a local farmer that offers grass-finished meat and eggs. Co-ops are gaining popularity and most have connections to local farmers that try and do the right thing. That's how we found our supplier. Sometimes they are out of things (I love rib eye steaks but so does the rest of town lol) but it's worth the wait. In the meantime we eat chicken, fish, pork or lamb all from the same farmer, too. Ordering online is too expensive (shipping sucks on frozen heavy loads). Sometimes we only eat cod livers in a can from iceland (order on Amazon) or scrambled eggs and cheese to make do.

Another great video, Doctor. More reasons for everyone to eat more uncooked, fermented foods like sauerkraut to replenish and bolster your microbiome.
