My 2000 Avalon still running today with zero issues. 320,000 miles. I put a Whiteline sway bar to keep the body roll but i love big body cars with room and some decent speed (which is why i also got an LS460). For this price, AVALON has come a VERY LONG WAY! GO AVALON!

The 2000 Avalon is a beautiful car with a very spacious interior, the earlier models such as the 2006 Avalon felt like a major downgrade

When you guys developed TRD, the engine must be stronger and powerful than the regular one. Upgrading little exterior and interior will not work. Make the engine powerful. Thanks

true, but wouldn't want to drive a FWD car with much more than 300hp
@JorgeRodriguez-po7kx4 жыл бұрын
Take out that FWD and go back to RWD like The Hyundai Genesis and The Kia Stinger is what they have to do
@Darksider6374 жыл бұрын
@@JorgeRodriguez-po7kx toyota is getting really stupid with FWD , its logical for the regular non TRD vehicles that have TRD versions available but the one's with the TRD upgrade should at least be AWD and some power difference that makes it actually sporty not just a badge and some side skirts
@92ASC4 жыл бұрын
@@JorgeRodriguez-po7kx they have RWD vehicles... Under the Lexus badge. Making a 300+HP RWD/AWD Avalon or Camry would cannabilize cars like the Lexus GS. These cars are for people who want a practical family sedan but want a little flair/sportiness over a typical rental spec base model or a luxury cruiser that your grandparents would drive.
@Vesper7784 жыл бұрын
Shahram Khayam That is sadly the reality. Not only Toyota but nowadays BMW and Mercedes and other carmakers would put their used to be prestige performance badge (M badge, AMG etc..) on ANY model with some exterior sport trims.

I have a 2015 Camry XSE V6. You'll pry that engine out of my cold dead hands. Plenty of power, silky smooth, and absolutely bulletproof. The updated version with D4-S is even better and I look forward to owning one. Far more refined than any turbo 4.

When you buy Toyota you already bought a Lexus. There is no Lexus brand outside the United States. I own a Lexus LS, and everything from the engine to the wheels have Toyota stamped on it. Sure the Lexus brand is top notch, but so is Toyota. I own both, and happy with both. Not to mention the Toyota Celsior/ Lexus LS comes with more options than the Lexus LS that Japan sends over here.

There both equal. But a little more yes. That Avalon TRD is a must 😍😍😍 I’d be more than happy to own this one day. All it needs is a 31” cherry bomb glasspack and put were the oem resonator is, a nice AEM/INJEN cold air intake system, and if whipple/stillen supercharger company has made for this Avalon’s 2GR, or vortech, it be the ultimate sports sedan. Needs a higher flowing exhaust( I know it is higher flowing than a normal Avalon already), cold.air intake and at least a mild tune.
@jjacob251014 жыл бұрын
Unless you get a good deal, with destination and dealership scalping fee, it will be closer to $50K, especially where I live in Honolulu. The TRD is based on the XSE trim, so it has most of the options available. The styling is much nicer than the Camry TRD, which is more mainstream, and based on the SE trim with a V6, to be more affordable. The Avalon TRD is expensive and big, but if that's what you want, and can afford it, you probably are not concerned about the price. So many people say the Camry and Avalon TRD should have more power, but they would probably not be intending to buy it anyway, and many, without professional driver training could not handle it, though with the suspension and bracing set up, it is much more easier to keep under control. The interior is nice, especially the seats, but the stereo design does not allow for the JBL sound system with the CD player, which is included with the Camry TRD if you get one with the option package. With that said, I will opt for the Camry TRD with the option package if I can get it, as the size is more to my liking, and more affordable. I wish the rear seat could fold down, but I can live with that, and the XSE features that's not available on the TRD. At first, I did not like the big rear spoiler, or the red striped pattern of the seats, but it grew on me, and I like it now. I just wish they included the fog lights from the Camry Nightshade SE XP Edition. Toyota got it right for both the Camry and Avalon TRD, with the aesthetics, reliable N/A V6, exhaust, chassis, suspension and brake modifications. For those that criticize it, they haven't drove it, and what they want is probably more in line with a Honda Civic Type R, or Subaru WRX STi, which is not the type of vehicle these were intended to be.
@teslaguy53114 жыл бұрын
I already test drove a Camry TRD. It’s amazing, better than my Audi s6 in terms of handling. However it’s not faster than it. The Toyota Camry TRD was made to enhance the handling on the car at least that’s what Toyota told me. They didn’t touch the engine for a reason and it’s actually the cheapest way to get into a Camry v6.
@jjacob251014 жыл бұрын
@@teslaguy5311 Exactly. Everybody is crying for more power, but Toyota wants to keep it reliable. Most of these aren't going to buy the TRD anyway. Those that do know how, or can find aftermarket tuners, but if something breaks, that's their problem. I still believe the TRD is retuned for engine and transmission response to match the exhaust. It would be way enough power for me, as long as it had the option package with the JBL CD stereo. My biggest downside is the rear seat does not fold down.
@larrybundy37833 жыл бұрын
I own the TRD camary....a blast to drive and sounds great. The 6 is reliable and has plenty of linear power. It cost me 31k out the door. While I am not crazy about some of the interior after market parts can take care of that...all in all a great value from yota.

Great review! Nice car, but I have a couple of issues. I contacted Toyota numerous of times about the Camry and Avalon. They do listen, but only apply a little. They tease us. I asked for the HP and TQ to be increased. It was, but only to 301/267. Make them both the same and higher. Don't lower the torque. I recommended that the exterior and interior get a sportier look. They did well on that. I asked for a TRD supercharger or turbocharger but got nothing on that. They do have a supercharger for the overseas cars. The reason they are not doing too many upgrades is because they do not want to out-do the Lexus brand. People always making comments saying you might as well get a Lexus if you want all that. No, I want a Camry or Avalon that's like that. I love the 2002 Toyota 4Runner style and wanted it to be more powerful. I thought the new style starting at 2003 was ok, but the body style did not appeal to me. Even though it had more horsepower and torque, I still would have chosen the 2002 model. Some people prefer a certain body style while others may prefer a powerful engine. I prefer both. Toyota and TRD can do better.

It looks fast, but it's just a regular Avalon with a body kit and some slightly firmer springs.

It's still a luxury car. That's what the XLE is for.

I wish Toyota would export their true top of the line luxury vehicle. The Crown models. Avalon is the top luxury Toyota only in the states..

Good luck finding reasonable 19" tires. I think you can find more options in the 20" but not an option for the TRD or Touring trim. If you want a softer ride go down in the wheel diameter.

I wonder how many steaks you can cook on that grill 😂 gotta admit, I did test drive this thing and it’s a smooth ride with a nice kick. Looks way better in person and it’s super luxurious

For 45K I’d rather get a Dodge Charger scat pack. It’s comes standard with a v8 and around 430 HP
@sergeantlee75943 жыл бұрын
Well nobody is stopping you
@carguyns43483 жыл бұрын
The charger and challenger scat pack have 485hp and 475 pound feet of torque but yes I would rather get one of those rather than this Toyota Avalon crap with FWD
