This was everything and nothing like I had expected and I am better for having watched. In a way, he answered his own question: “What good is art?” In this instance, art/literature helped them connect, art gave them both empathy and a means to reach out to ask for & receive help, even if they didn’t have the exact words to frame the request. “What do you want from me? What do you want me to do? How can I help?” Jack was excellent, as always 👏🏽

So I saw this film through an ad, clicked it and glad I saw the whole thing through. You earned yourself a new subscriber. Your framing is top notch and I like how you use that as well as your editing to really sink us in with the dialogue and characters. Can’t wait to see what else you got in store!

Ah thank you! Well observed. Fincher was a huge influence. I poured over The Social Network in preparing for this. The psychological connection he makes between the audience and his characters using the camera is phenomenal.

The acting, the writing and everything else. The short sighted despair and the savior. Enjoyed this and how this short film ended but the story line could continue after viewing. Good stuff.

@@BenMoranFilms It definitely comes through. The low-key lighting is great as well. Can you tell me what camera/lenses, and what lights were used?
@BenMoranFilms
@BenMoranFilms Жыл бұрын
@@-Flynn It was a Blackmagic Pocket 6K (though we shot in 1080p because I needed to edit on my crappy little laptop) and we used a variable zoom lens. I can’t remember the make. We stayed mostly between a 35mm and a 50mm if I recall correctly. For lighting, we tried very hard to light it all with the practical lamps in the hotel, some of which we brought in. We occasionally supplemented that with a tungsten red head.

Most of the short films here on KZfaq suck, they have no idea about directing, editing, storytelling and are always overloaded with music. Not you. Boy, you know how to direct, you let the actors play, you show careful camera work and trust your story. Great job, I really enjoyed it.

I can't tell which parts are CG. I came from your "Amazing Possibilities with Blender" video where you linked this video in a comment. I scrubbed through this footage, and all I could guess is that the background at kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rrB0fKyDsqfHe2g.html is artificial. Are there any other uses of Blender in the video? Edit: I just saw your newer video explaining it. Thanks for the content!
