Well 15:02 is a pretty good explanaition and answer what suzuki was intending to do. But I understand what you're saying. Of course, they didn't just let any guy speak for them. This is an important step in communicating with the customer, this guy from top to bottom is a really real world kind of guy speaking to us from Suzuki's standpoint. I think what he's saying all in all makes a lot of sence. This is the new Suzuki Hayabusa, and 90% of the customers who own and ride it in their real life, chances are very good they will love the hell out of it.

Busa wasn't lacking power. The engine was powerful as stock and had all the potential to become a beast as modified. Gen 3 busa is equipped with the same reliable upgradable engine. Busa before was lacking all those electronic assistances and comfortable ergonomics, therefore could not combine its power with a touring character, like the ZX14. I was never a busa-fan (I ride a ZX14), but this "Gen 3 - Busa", I love it...

I went from having two bikes for a quite a while and decided that I only wanted one that would do everything and finished up with a superduke gt. In a drag race it’s the busa every time but in the real world the super dukes low and mid range torque coupled with less weight and much lower gearing (don’t forget the busa will pull 186 mph in fifth) means it’s for me at least the quicker and easier bike to ride slow or fast.

So you have a choice of bikes which suit you. Why should the busa be the same? I got mine for the speed it allows. Not for the ease of riding or the bottom end or any of the other stuff I can get from multiple other bikes - purely because if you want to move very quickly across the ground it was the best tool for the job. If you don't want that there are loads of bikes out there which offer more midrange/bottom end so if thats where you get your kicks go for it (and I can recommend a vmax if you want a real hauler from right down low - monster engine). Just try to realise that bikes are usually different because people have different tastes. Trying to make them all the same based on what an "average" person wants means we all end up somewhere between a CB500 and a VFR800. At this rate the only bike on sale will be a 95hp 780 triple which won't allow you to turn off any of its rider aids and all will be so intrusive a spaniel can ride it.

I’ve had a gen 1 Busa and it was an incredible machine. One of the best motorcycles I’ve ever had: fast, furious, but also very soft when I felt like it. Fuel consumption was superb ( less than a 600cc when traveling side by side on National roads), comfortable with a higher screen installed, and yes, extremely reliable! It was a wonderful machine, but time goes on and nowadays it’s not for me, and I honestly thought that these kind of motorcycles have got to an end... seems that I was wrong 😆

However alike alot of Busa owners who are sold on the Gen 2 there's no big need to go after the gen 3. This bike should've been released 8 years ago at least. I understand and agree with reliability and characteristic, but the engine should've been bigger with more power plain and simple.! If cost was gonna be an issue let the consumer deal with it not the manufacturer because they already are with the addition of rider aid electronics. Like the rep said, they have engineers to create a reliable bigger motor so why not?..smh. Beautiful bike I must say, but Suzuki dropped the ball this time here.

How many riders did they ask, what they wanted? Where is the center-stand option? Why do they have to take away so much to give us a bike so full of tech, so handheld, that the real biker becomes detached from the skills they have learnt through the years of learning their craft? A nice bike to look at, but what will it be like to live with? And why did it take so long to be released? What were they waiting for? Why upgrade when you can sell the same thing? They have no competition now. A gen 1 and a gen 2 are more than enough for most people who can ride. Is that now the point, people rely too much on tech? What happen to skill and the feel of the road? Is this just another way of holding people's hands, so we become more asleep?

@@can-uc-wakeup they have more competition then ever before, the Hayabusa was built on power and speed, it's HP and acceleration were industry leading....Now days it's rival companies naked bikes alone leave it for dead kawasaki ZH2, SPEED TRIPLE 1200, KTM 1290R, DUCATI STREET FIGHTER, if that wasn't bad enough EVERY SINGLE litre bike in production decimates the new BUSA. Then the nail in the coffin the KAWASAKI NINJA H2SX lighter faster more comfortable and with 200HP standard and 240 with a simple reflash oh and with factory clip on luggage as well. I currently own a Gen 2 and absolutely love my Busa! I’m over 6ft tall so I’m not sure about the overall shorter length and smaller tank on the Gen 3. Seems like taller riders will be uncomfortable once tucked over the tank, twisting on the throttle. Suzuki could have really set the bar high with this Gen 3 but didn’t. All of the updated electronics have been available for years in the 1,000’s! For me it doesn’t justify paying another $7,000+ for a Gen 3. I’ll ride one eventually and hopefully it changes my mind but for now...I’ll keep my Gen 2! Great video!

Totally agree - binning the exhaust + remap will get it back up to 190+. But that's a big wedge for a full system and dyno work, when Suzuki could've done it by making the motor bigger. Well, the main big complaint I had with the old big is I absolutely hated the rear seat hump. The aerodynamic rounded-ness of the fairing wasn't great either. For me, they have completely fixed the looks. I remember a few years back riding a faired bandit 1250 and was shocked at the overtaking capacity, it went like a K1300S. If a gen2 Busa is much faster and better than that and the new bike has the same if not better mid-range, then I'd be tempted to try one once they eventually are available for a test ride. Only issue then is range. It reminds me of when I had a very good CBR600F which would tell me to find a petrol station after 120 miles. That one averaged around 35mpg (2007 bike). Good review, nice that they brought in Suzuki GB guy (not the sales & marketing rep) to answer the obvious questions (thumbs up Suzuki as I've not seen other manufacturers do this).

The Hayabusa has so much reserve power even this new mid-range punch might rarely be mined in the real world. What *is* important is the details make this a much better ownership experience. Like Paul said, "Ride it." Nobody on earth - specially many "expert" commenters - can talk about what these improvements mean on the road. Hang in there.
