I just noticed that too... _except_ for the second-to-last scene (with the nuclear blast) and the scene in "Heaven". I don't know enough French to know if the final joke has anything to do with the rock, but I hope that it does.

Therefore they attempt to socially influence the whole country with whatever they want, just like the CCP does in China and the media outlets in Russia. Joseph Goebbels did it in the 1930s and 40s in Berlin. They eliminated other news outlets like the left is trying to do in the US, being prompted by the most racist organization in that country, the NAACP.

agree, benny hill was the king of "slapstick" comedy. There are some very clever comedians around today but they have changed along with society and its mostly about bad taste. Benny hill was very near the mark but never went too far with sketches or language which made it all the better as a "family" to enjoy together on a sat/Sunday evening. Greatly missed.

Here in France the Benny Hill Show was extremely popular for sure. Maybe not the early years but in the 80ies it definitely was. Back in those days, we only had 4 channels, we all watched the (only) TV all together in family, he brought laughter to all of us. Something that doest exist anymore, we have more TVs in the house, more channels, more online entertainment, kids don't watch the same stuff as their parents....

A French dubbed version, how peculiar! While Benny Hill could speak French reasonably well, for French television, he had a French 'voice dubber' named Roger Carel. As you can hear, Carel did a rather good impression of Hill's voice in French. There's a video about Benny Hill and Roger Carel somewhere if you look for it.
