Nice update video. I need a web cam for my work computer which is left on after hours for our IT department to remotely access if needed. Do you know if this camera has motion activation and starts recording a video if someone unauthorized sits at my desk or is it just mainly for video calls and meetings and only works when the app is launched?

This camera does not have that capability (to my knowledge). It is meant for video calls and meting. However, there are many security cameras that can be attached to a Local Area network that will send you an Email alert and video clips when motion is detected. I set up one recently that monitored our cats when we went on vacation. I should have reduced it's sensitivity however, since I got way too many Emails.

This seems like a novelty webcam. I understand having an app or web app for some premium features, but a webcam (in my opinion) should adhere to the USB Video Class (UVC) standards and not require an app to function. So, I guess my question would be "how does it work in OBS without the app?"

Jeremy, in the 1st video I put up on this last Sunday, I did set it up in OBS. It worked, but without the use of the Remote or any of the special features not available in normal Camera Control, which was most of them.

Windows has a new Paket manager which is called winget maybe you could make a video about tit too. Winget upgrade --all. it can pull doen other programs updates too not only windows specific ones.

Winget is pretty handy. I've been using it for more than a year. It does have some downsides though, mainly due to trying to maintain backwards compatibility. Some software that you install with winget is only available for the user that installed it. Hopefully this will change over time. Until then, Chocolatey does not seem to have the same limitations to the extent winget does.
