Mine just arrived and I love it. Hefty, but solid as a rock. Amazed at the height on the a373 tripod too.

What does the s8 pro have over the s6pro other than more steps of counterbalance ?

The weight capacity of the S8PRO increases by 2kg from 6kg (S6PRO) to 8kg (S8PRO).

I have question, I have benro s8 and a573T set. As I understand it the s8 supports up to 8 kilos. But I couldn't find any information about how many kilos the a573T supports. Could you give me more detailed information about this foot in particular? Also, can you talk about the differences between the a573T and a673T?

The A573 is rated at 30Kg (66lb) capacity while the A673 is rated at 50Kg (110lb) capacity. The A673 uses a thicker tubing making it heavy duty and has a heavy duty detachable mid-level spreader while the A573 has a lighter weight permanent spreader. The max height on the A573 is 1427mm (56.1")while the max height on the A673 is 1445mm (56.8). The tubing size on the A573 is 18mm and 14mm while the tubing size on the A673 is 22mm and 16mm. The A573 weighs 2.73Kg (6lb) while the A673 weighs 3.9Kg (8.5lb), both are 75mm bowl tripods.

The design and specification are up to 8Kg. This means that you will see that heavier payloads have diminished quality of pans and tilts and will definitely overpower the counterbalance capability. If you are locking a camera into place the 8Kg could be exceeded within reason.

Hi just got mine I find the bowl screw come loose. Is their something I’m not doing right ?

Is the head unscrewing from the 1/2 ball, or is the bolt that goes through the half ball getting loose?

@@BenroUSA hey thanks for quick reply. I had a play with it last night yes head is unscrewing from 1/2ball. The issue when I pan the counter dial gets tight and then loosen the ball from the head.

If you remove the ball from the tripod you will see some lock down set screws. The best way to adjust them is back the screws off and then put the ball back into the tripod and lock the pan on the tripod head and screw them together as tightly as possible. Then remove the head and the ball from the tripod and lock down the set screws. Replace the ball and head into the tripod. Remember to back off the pan lock lever fully open when you start your pans otherwise it may bind up during the pan.

Try a little heat at joint, blow dryer . If bolt is askew it mat need to be sent in .

No it does not; this head uses the "QR13" plate.

I got 3x pieces. one is ok at panning. Two of them have issues at the panning ring: it passes over level zero on the ring, and all 3 passes over level 10. i see a review here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bJlllZxp07PPpI0.html and two of my heads have similar issues. my conclusion: BENRO S8 PRO is not good for panning. Tilt looks fine. I have also old cheap heads and new models for other brands (even no name brands) and works nice. Even the S4 pro works great for panning - but it has just one single friction option - there is no ring for adjusting pann friction. I am disappointed of S8 PRO. I want to make an upgrade (for adjusting friction for panning) but S8 is not ok. Sorry.

update: all 3 heads (S8 pro) lock in 3 different positions at tilting lock knob (this locks dont have adjustable position like the lock plate or lock pann). another minus !!!

update 2: at the panning ring, in the lowest value (below zero on two of them or zero at the single one that dont go below zero) the frictions are completely different. so 3 heads - 3 different friction force apply - with exactly same Panasonic camera on them - and the weight of the cameras is 3,5 Kg.
