I congratulate you for your skill in restoring and repairing this type of watches, especially the vintage ones. I have been following you for some time now because I like LED watches, a technology that is largely outdated today but that I still love today... I got to have a Bulova LED in the 80's, I'm about to buy one on Ebay, I hope I'm lucky.

I really enjoy your videos and am always especially impressed by your ability to handle desoldering braid with your bare hands.

Awesome fix Tiberiu, you always make it look so easy but there's a lot of work that goes into these repairs and restoration outside of this video and as you mentioned sourcing the rare replacement parts.

Thanks, in this case I was doing it a second time so I had some experience :)

Love your repair videos! Would love an episode for newbies on basic DIY cleaning / oiling of a vintage LCD watch.🤓
@VintageDigitalWatches2 жыл бұрын
Thanks RG, there isn't much ro say about oiling digital watches. Only the early ones where you have control from the crown lubrication is needed and you need a manual for that to speciffy where to put oil.

Great videos. I have an led Trafalgar watch which lights up and goes through the time/date cycle fine (with the little push in button) but I cannot get the button which brings up the display or adjusts the time/date to work.Any thoughts on what the problem might be? I can,t see anything wrong visually.I can find virtually no information on troubleshooting/repairing these type of watches.

I have a Seiko a127 that works ok when off the wrist. However, after wearing for an hour or two it turns off. I have dissambled and cleaned but problem remains. Any advice would be appreciated. Love your content!
@VintageDigitalWatches Жыл бұрын
The A127 is iffy, I have one clean that doesn't turn on, I'd say something is loose and power gets disconnected OR some component is influenced by the heat on your wrist. Wear it over something with a sleeve and if it still turn's off then it is something mechanical and power cuts off.
@jamtero Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I think you're right about the heat. Wore outside in the sun and shut off much quicker. Time to find where it's failing.

Can you tell me: why LED watch drain new two battery in 24 hours? I have LED MBO from '70 and it consump battery very fast? Thnx on answer ;-)
@kiwicory1002 жыл бұрын
Mike over at my retro watches mentioned when you remove e clips you do it in a plastic bag. Which of your videos shows this technique? Thanks in advance for a reply.
@aristideau50722 жыл бұрын
Can you please recommend a tool to allow me to remove the battery hatch of vintage era Seikos?. I live in Australia and the closest coin that I've tried using is our 5c coin, but that is too thin and I end up screwing up the hatch. There must be a specific tool / coin that fits the groove perfectly. I own several 70's Seiko LCD's and a couple are stuck fast and I don't want to ruin them even further trying to open them.
@VintageDigitalWatches2 жыл бұрын
Hey, coins are what I use and most people, maybe get a suitable washer from ahardware store. But if they are stuck then only if you remove the baccvoer of the watch and assist from the other side might help.

Hi thank you for the video I bought a 95qs-42, I didn't make an accurate inspection, try to simply change the battery BR 2320 and put a classic CR2016. The display is shown only if I press the light, stay on for 3/4 seconds then fade away. Other buttons seem not to have effects, only the light button (the light works). Thank you

Not familiar with this fault, needs hands on diagnosis.
