Dear Benson Boone. I know you won’t ever see this but.. whenever I hear this song, it hits me so hard because I lost my dad when I was 8 to suicide, he hung himself. This song is so emotional and I relate so much to it. It’s been my 5th Christmas without him I believe. I miss my dad so so much. I lost my grandmother to Covid in 2021, and I still think about her every day. Every word of this song resonates with me, reminding me of her. She was religious, and we used to go to church on Sundays. I prayed to God while she was sick, hoping for her recovery. However, she passed away in just 4 days, and I couldn't say goodbye to her. Losing her shattered my faith because I had believed in both her recovery and in God. Even after 3 years, I'm still trying to find my way back to God, but it's a struggle, especially when memories of my grandma resurface. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone, and others experience grief in similar ways. This is my first KZfaq comment, but I can't express my gratitude to you enough! Thank you for this song!

You'll find God, it hurts I know but God wouldn't let it happen for no reason. God loves you and your grandma, just remember she's not gone and you'll be with her again. Maybe this song is God's way to help you realize that you're not alone and to come back to him. God loves you and the fact that you still have faith shows you know that.

The lyrics really hits hard as I lost my beloved mother this year. Most kind hearted woman I ever known in my entire life. Every Sunday morning she will be with the service group helping out at the church. She was college professor with countless students in US, Hong Kong, and China and she always took her students to eat at Asian restaurants at her own cost. I really don’t know what to do with my life after her passing. I’m so lost with my life and I really miss you mom

I know Benson won’t realistically see this comment but: I lost my dad suddenly in 2008 when I was 12, and my family was just broken. For years after that I had a very hard time, I made terrible life decisions, and I also became angry at a God I didn’t know if I still believed in. Even to this day, I still have a very hard time rediscovering any faith I once had. But your music really makes me feel it a little bit again. You’re incredibly talented and I hope you only grow from here.

I lost my dad April 14th last year he was my best friend and role model i remember visting him in hospital and how he couldn't let go of my hand he couldn't walk or talk and ive been so angry at God ever since ive been praying for breakthroughs..im only 14 and i dont know what to do with my life or what will become of me in future...even just looking at the stories of people who've lost their loved ones makes me tear up..Rest in peace dad❤❤❤

I lost both of my parents last year. My father died from cancer and my mother did not make it very long after he was gone-8 months later she had a heart attack. Sweetheart my heart goes out to you and I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my grandma a few years ago and I think it'll always hurt to not have her but I know she's in heaven at peace and will always love me. I was so lucky to have had her as my grandmother and it helps to know she's happy and not sick anymore. It does get easier hunny, every time you get sad thinking about her being gone think of all the beautiful times you had with her and let that comfort you. I wish you the best hunny and don't forget you will see her again some day and she's always watching you and smiling down on you ❤

Lost my dad 7 years ago. He used to do the same. Get all fancy to go to church. I still remember the smell of his dress leather jacket. His voice is fading from my memory but never the love he had for me. Losing a parent is devastating, until I experienced it I could never imagine.

I understand you I have three grandfathers they're all gone one of those grandfather passed away two years ago is really hard for me to go through this exspesly for my father I was named by owner one of his father's his had two father's they're both gone I was really hard for him to lose his biological father as well as his step father they're both really nice and about two years ago in 29/12/2021 his was heartbroken because his step father passed away in that house day even science today me and my family is really hurt my heart as well as father and my family is really sad we love you Grandpa and remember we always remember you and always will we can't forget him and we're never forget you were blessed you and hope you have a wonderful day and a wonderful restful in peace we always be their for you no matter what happened me and my family we never give up together we can work we a team one to four and four together we can do anything for you to make you proud of us we love you and always will honored you hopefully you don't forget about us

I heard this song for the first time the night my mom, who really was my best friend, passed away in my arms. I lost my grandfather when I was 5 years old and three days after my birthday. 10 years after that I just lost my grandma 6 weeks ago and my great uncle 5 weeks after I lost my grandma. I don't know what everyone is dealing with but this song reminds me of all the sad and happy memories of my grandfather, grandma, and my great uncle. I find myself not like my old self after I lost all three of them. Dancing or signing this song makes me cry so much. I just want to say thank you so much Benson boone. I feel like I have them back!

same, I lost my grandfather 7 years ago who I alway run and hug him every time I visited him, I was going through a hard time because my ex best friends betrayed me and my grandmother died 20 years ago, she was suffering so much. I also lost my aunt 15 years ago because we let her died. I’m so sorry for your lost, I understand how hard you have been through without them but one day someone has to died which is normal. I’m sure they are watching you in heaven.

The same, I lost my grandfather a month before I turned 8, and my world shattered, then a couple years ago my grandmother left to join him, it took me 28 years to finally decide to say goodbye forever and start to heal, I still miss both of them, but the pain finally started to diminish and the anchor that I had to the pain of his passing I finally broke it and started to move on.

I lost my healthy 69 year old Grandma to a quick and very aggressive form of pancreatic cancer 6 weeks ago. It’s been really hard, trying to cope with losing one of the people I love the most. I discovered this song just before she died. The line “I don’t want to say goodbye because this one means forever” hit me so hard. Such a beautiful song!
