Any idea how to get the straw assembly back together?? The little colored plastic piece came out and I can't get all the parts to snap back in

Assemble Without the top straw in. imagine how it goes in with the straw. put the bottom piece in and the top one. slide the straw threw. one down side is pulling on the top straw is ripping it.

How to use it? My son took it to school yesterday and he hardly drank any water. I tried to sip out of it and I could hardly get anything. My son asked if he had to tilt it? Idk myself. Edit: I just took the straw out. I don't have time this morning to figure it out. Now he has to tilt it. The water wasn't coming out freely. Wondering if he had to suck. Even then hardly anything was coming out. The pressure in the bottle. I felt like taking that little nib off to get air into the bottle but I wouldn't be able to put it back in if I was wrong for doing that.
