nah I was there. He told the Sound man to turn his shit up. He didn't grab the mic from Tip. He came from the other side of the stage. There is a video of it.

If you runover the set of Scarface, Ice Cube, or Q-Tip...its all disrespect. That's why the Zulus was on his ass. But if he didnt snatch the mic, I woulda respected Pac a lot more if he took an alternate route like "YO soundman/DJ...hold the fuck up. Let me introduce myself correctly instead of just starting the music like that"

Benzino has told this story 8 different ways like the video ain't easy to find on KZfaq. Tribe Called Quest were at the PODIUM accepting an award, Pac came from stage left with a wireless mic in hand. He thought it was his cue because the stage manager told him it's your cue. Those early Source awards didn't run so smoothly sometimes. But it was a mix up on the part of the stage managers, giving Pac his cue to go at the wrong time. People like Benzino been building it up into an urban legend like Pac was KRS & Q-Tip was PM Dawn or something.

that was the exact story...the person cued up the music at the wrong time...it wasnt pac fault. good thing busta got pac & tip on the phone to squashed that
