I actually had a demo on this exact model at the SoHo location in NYC. The sound is very clear, and the bass is so powerful that it literally shakes the ground and makes anyone flinch from the bass. Looking forward to purchasing this amazing speaker in the future soon!

It has more prenounced mid bass because it lacks a bit of depth compared to A9. A9 has a much deeper bass responce and far more scale and control. John

Hey John, pretty late to the party, but do you maybe know if the Beosound 2 comes with an aptx Bluetooth driver? So when I'd connect my laptop via bluetooth to the speaker and play a video that the sound will be in sync with the video? I have the Beoplay M5 and it doesn't come with aptx driver and therefore you can play a video on your laptop but the sound will be delayed by 1 second more or less on the speaker. Was kinda disappointed by that, since it's not a cheap product and I expected in that range to be aptx on board. I only use my M5 now via Airplay since connecting to it via Chromecast/Cast I get constant lags and problems (even sent it in but they said it's working as intended...) John, thanks for the video, there are no videos yet on set up. I have just bought one, nice product and using the setup app connection was easy but for example I have to use bluetooth, cannot use airplay from my iPhone…..advice on set up for apple users would be greatly appreciated….thanks

Hi John, thanks for your videos they are very informative. I have a question for you and it may sound silly but here goes. I have an A9 wall mounted in my living room. Of course the sound is beautiful but you really need to sit in front of it to get the full experience. I'm looking for an excuse to buy the Beosound 1 and thought it may work in conjunction with the A9 to help in spreading music around the room if placed in a strategic location and by using the multi room link? The A9 would still be the main system and provide the bass and the Beosound 1 would enchance the ambience.What do you think?

That would work if you want a larger spread of music in different parts of the room. I would highly recommend you listen to BeoSound 2 first though, it's sound quality is far superior to BeoSound 1. John

John, what do you think about beosound 2 philosophy? Bang Olufsen names bs1 and bs2 as “flexible living” speakers. I get about the bs1 but why they think bs2 meets that phrase? Is it light and meant to be easily moved from one room to another? Looking forward to buy it. Thanks! Sam

Hi Sam, BeoSound 1 is classed as portable because of it's battery. BeoSound 2 is movable because it's easy to pick up and just needs mains power and wireless to work. I suppose it's called flexible as it's not hard wired in like a pair of speakers (BeoLab 17/18/20 etc) with a BeoSound Core that would only ever stay where it was installed. Hope this helps, John

Beosound 2 in stereo sounds like very good stand mount hifi speakers. The most impressive in stereo though is Beosound Balance. John

from my recent listening session: both are ultra clear in the high and mid spectrum but messy in the lower frequencies. I was quite disappointed given the price.

Hi Quentin. That could have just been the placement of the speaker and the placement setting in the app (corner/wall/free). The bass response can be adjusted to match how the speaker is placed. John

How you compare the bass on the beosound 2 to beoplay a9?

A9 has a much larger cabinet with an 8" dedicated bass driver and bigger power amplifiers, it's also has a reflex port where the A2 is sealed. A2 is very tight and controlled, A9 will fill a much larger space and has deeper, more powerful bass response.

I compared the two and I prefer Beosound 2. The beoplay A9 is more powerful however the quality of Beosound 2 is much better, the sound is more defined and precise

From your phone or tablet via Airplay 2, Chromecast or Bluetooth. You can also use the Built in Deezer and the B&O app.

Hi John, How do I connect my turntable to my BeoSound 2? I have a NAD phono preamp pp 2e between my pro-ject turntable and my BeoSound. And my Phono preamp is connected with phono-phono in my turntable. And a phono to 3.5 jack from preamp to BeoSound. Thank you

Hi William, you can do both. They can play the same music using Multiroom or play different music independently, you control them with the app or double tap the top to cycle through available sources. John

Kent Rigby You use a NL/ML convertor from B&O. It acts as an interface between MasterLink and the new Network Link products. John.

You're welcome. BeoSound 1 doesn't sound quite as good as BeoPlay A6 in my opinion due to it's smaller size, but it makes up for it with portability thanks to it's battery. BeoSound 2 is comparable to BeoPlay A6 in terms of performance, it depends what you need. BeoPlay A6 is stereo with 2 sets of drivers, BeoSound 2 is a 360 mono speaker, both sound excellent and have very different designs. Best thing is to go and have a listen and see what you prefer. @@BangOlufsenManchester Of course you can. I use two Beosound 2 in the same room as multi speakers. Connect them both with Airplay 2 or as a group in Google Cast.

Hello, Im sorry about the question, but I have to ask. How does the sound quality of the BeoSound 2 compare to the Zeppelin Wireless for example or the Naim Mu-So? Im choosing between this speakers and a comment will be very useful to me, to decide.

Miguel Silva that's ok, I'll always try to answer questions. I personally prefer BeoSound 2 over the Zeppelin, I quite liked the B&W, like most of thier stuff it's well made and sounds good, it was a tiny bit bottom heavy and slightly muddy in comparison for me. BeoSound 2 sounded cleaner. I can't speak for the Naim as I've never heard the Mu-So, I've heard good things about it though. I can tell you that a customer bought BeoSound 2 from us recently, he chose it over the Mu-So and BeoPlay A6. Try them all out if you can and let me know what you pick. I can highly recommend the BeoSound 2 though, it sounds really good and looks the business. John.

Thanks a lot. Since my job had me moving from one city to another I can't have a designated room for audio inside my house by now. So I understand the Beosound 2 is design to mobility and adapts to the environment, I think is the best option for me.

Jason Chang BeoPlay A9 is a larger, more powerful, stereo audio system. BeoSound 2 is fantastic and takes up minimum space. If I was choosing between the two I would go with A9 for it's outstanding sonic performance. John.

My advice is don't use Bluetooth if you can avoid it. Connect to your network and use Airplay 2 or Chromecast instead.

how do i physically add the besound 2 to moment. Scanning for wireless speakers the 2 is not found. can only see it on iPhone bluetooth. Beomusic also does not see the 2

Have you set the BeoSound 2 up on your wireless network using the BeoSetup App? You have to first do that so it's available on your home network.

To test and compare sound quality I recomend "Right here" from Rudimental. The bass of that song can not be reproduced well by any speaker. For me is one of the best tracks to compare products.

Hello Yue, BeoPlay A9 sounds better in my opinion because of the larger cabinet, drive units and it's stereo but it takes up more space. BeoPlay A2 sounds excellent and is much more compact. On sound alone I would choose A9, depends where you intend to use it and how much space you have. John

having checked out the Beosound 2, The Beosound 1 are not worth it. However, I ended up buying the A9 Mk2 - beats Beosound 2 on sound, midrange and bass - by a country mile. And just marginally more expensive.

BeoSound 1 and 2 don't have stereo pairing as they are 360 speakers, only the small BeoPlay speakers have that via the BeoPlay app. You can join them together with BeoLink Multiroom though with the BeoLink app.

Philip Carlyn They don't really compare Philip, they are totally different products. A small 360 wireless speaker will never sound as nice as a large pair of stereo hifi speakers.

I have both and I can say that if you listen at low volumes and do not care about the stereo image, Beosound 2 seems more pleasing to the ears, warmer and cleaner, the Beolab 18 exaggerates in the highs and hides the Mid-bass making a somewhat strange acoustic presentation, Beosound 2 is perfectly tuned but lacks the power and definition of Beolab 18. The two are for very different proposals, but I definitely recommend Beosound 2 for background music. I hope I have helped!

They are on two different planets. the beosound 1 is just slightly better than the much cheaper Beloit 17 or 20 Safe and get the 2 like I did.

The aluminum is made in Factory 5, in Struer Denmark (in the same factory where the aluminum parts of lamborghini cars are manufactured) the amplifiers are made by Ice Power, only the assembly is made in china.
