This very informative video made me realize that stereo separation is an important element in the overall listening experience. I went to my local dealer and gave all B&O products a listen, taking in to consideration my limitations on space - small room. I chose the B&O Emerge and bout a pair as they can be linked in stereo. Oddly enough, for my low volume listening in a small room, they sounded best for the levels I can listen to in my tiny apartment.

Great video! I’m looking at the Beosound 2 as indeed my main speaker. It just ticked every box on my checklist. For my living room, this will be the speaker to which I’d like to connect my TV, listen to Spotify and lastly connect my record player. One very important aspect to me is design, and there’s just no speaker like it (Beosound 1 doesn’t have an AUX so can’t connect to my record player) Another consideration was space: I don’t want stereo speakers because in my living room that takes up too much space. And lastly of course there’s budget. I want something that retains it’s value (I’ll be buying mine used), and that doesn’t break the bank. This perfectly does all of the above!

Dank je wel, cool review. I’d love to have a Level in Anthracite or Bronze with Smoked Oak once sonething like that launches and with multiroom, but with the bass of the BS2. Am I correct though that the bass of the Level is more than what you get out of the BS1? If so, by how much?
@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 3 жыл бұрын
The bass driver of the BS2 will physically not fit obviously. Honestly the bass of the Level is already super close to one another, you only really notice it when you go super loud as in when you're screaming over the music. Compared to a BS1 the Level has about 2x bass capacity, weather the track asks for that or not is another story but the BS1 is not in the same league as the Level honestly.

How do these compare to the edge and A9? Love the B&O lineup but gotta say it’s getting quite confusing? Would love to see a video covering the differences between all the options B&O offers today. Even the Stage is right in the middle between these two and seems quite a compelling alternative?
@Mikipedia

it's an ascending line really, Level - Beosound 2 - Stage - A9 mk4 - Edge. Each have their own unique use cases and properties and every time it's a step up but the step isn't always as big and therefor depends on your room and what you want to do with it. So if you tell me your room size and use case and I can tell you what I would recommend. I like them all except for the Edge because of it's properties I can't really place it anywhere in my home. The Stage and the A9 are the most special as they can basically do it all for very reasonable prices, especially the Stage. Thanks for watching and commenting, I hope my answer helps you?

@@Mikipedia Thanks you, your videos and feedback are very helpful. I have a room of ca. 90m2. Both sound quality and design are important to me. My absolute B&O favorite in terms of design are the Beolab 18s. However, the room is under a roof with a 45° ceiling and therefore traditional standing speakers are not ideal. In addition, in practice we only use TuneIn and AirPlay for radio and music. To get this functionality with the 18s we would also need a Transmitter and Core making it a complicated and expensive setup. Therefore an all in one would be perfect for us, provided that it can fill a room this size. Volume will not be an issue, it is really about filling the room to have good sound quality even if you're not in the perfect spot.

@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 3 жыл бұрын
That's very hard to say because it's so different. It's also a lot older so it depends on the state, but for sure over the years speakers have become a lot more clear sounding and more balanced. Speakers from that era sound a bit woolly compared, but in terms of design it's stunning and a classic! Who doesn't love the sliding doors and CD mechanism?! I think especially for the volumes you listen at the Level will sound better, mainly due to being more modern. But if you use it mainly to listen to music of the era then the bl2500 sound fine still to this day. It's a toss up honestly, because what you have is gorgeous to look at and use, but may be outclassed in sound. But is that the sole thing we care about? I for sure don't, so it's a hard one I can only leave up to you... Neither is a bad choice, so at least whatever you do it's positive :D

I apologize for commenting on an old video but I have a question - would it be possible to fit the level on the ceiling, as for a 5.1.2 config? I unfortunately have no option on installing the celestial speakers as drilling into the reinforced concrete plate is a no-go, but could 2 levels work if I manage to fit a power cable? I'm assuming at least some modification to the wall bracket would need to be done. Or would you suggest something else entirely?
@Mikipedia

No worries, currently you can't use the level for such a role. I'd suggest finding some bl3/17's and hanging them on the wall up high and point them down. The level's wallmount does not work at all on a ceiling and I see no way how that could be done without B&O making something purposely for that mounting option.

Another great video from Miki. I like the look of the Level and the fact that it’s portable. However, I don’t find the design iconic and unique like the BS1 and BS2. Carrying a BS1 outdoor and using it on a terrace with its 360 sound makes sense. If one is after stereo separation then a single speaker is probably not the ideal solution anyhow. A Core with 2 speakers is a far better stereo separation option. As Miki sums up beautifully: it really does depend what you are going to use a device for!

Hi Diler, first of all thank you for watching! Beolink should should be out by the end of the year, but since you don't care much let's switch to AP2. It's a really short answer, yes you can! AP2 or CC and you can join both speakers to the same source no issue. You obviously can't set left and right per speaker like this but it's a very neat way to get a lot more volume in the room for sure! Hope that helps?
@scarfaceforlife13
@scarfaceforlife13 3 жыл бұрын
@@Mikipedia yes that helps, thank you. Will be getting the Level soon 👌👍. So you’re saying that once Beolink is out, i’ll also be able to connect something like two M3’s (part of the connected speaker family) with the stage and assign them as rear or left/right speakers through Beolink? Hope I got that right. In that case, it’s also possible that if B&O end up adding a Sub(wishful thinking) to their connected speaker family, i’ll be able to connect it with the stage ?🤤 Not that the stage needs any of those, it’s MORE than capable in every department on it’s own, chose it over Ambeo and Sonos ark/gen 3 sub combo and I’m soooo glad I did. Thanks
@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 3 жыл бұрын
Not really, Beolink is B&O's own protocol where you could tap one either device and it would join the other. That would mean you didn't need your phone to ad a second speaker to your airplay list. With full Beolink it could use the internal streamer of the device and then share that, meaning you wouldn't even need to take out your phone to begin with for anything. There are rumours that we may be able to do more, but that's not yet on the roadmap. It would be nice for sure, but that kind of interconnectivity with a stage I don't see happening any time soon as the stage doesn't have the processor to divide the signals up externally. Stereo pairing is somewhat easier as it's literally a split in left and right signal, but for surround there is a lot of processing going on to keep stuff in sync and what signal to go where at which time and there is nothing in that chain that does those calculations. hope that makes sense?

I mean, you can multiroom through AP and CC but you don't have touch to join like with NL/Beolink. Q3/4 this year is when the update is :)

The Beosound Level is much better as a stereo pair. The multi-room feature works with all Mozart speakers. Airplay 2 from Apple devices works with videos but has poor (336ms) latency over wi-fi, Bluetooth or other inputs making them unsuitable for watching video. For audio they can easily replace full size three way floor speakers. The premium price for gold/oak is hard to swallow particularly at the £1599 September 2023 rrp.

Personally I would go for the Beosound Level as I am biased and it works with a whole house setup on the same system through beolink. I like the portability too. The Level is all around a very well executed product and if you're in the market for something that is moveable within the home I would happily endorse buying one. Which is better, I can't really say as I don't have much if any experience with the muso and in the end it's mostly personal preference anyway. So buy what you like best, that's the most important thing anyway ;p

@@andreuclopes253 You can absolutely connect it to your iphone via airplay if you're on the local network and outside of that you can also use BT or Line in. That's no problem at all and it all works. The only thing I would say to do is to buy one without google voice assistent, I don't like google that much and some weird things happen when you go outside of your network. The google voice assistent will want to connect to internet. Also google has priority on the line in and BT connections, so if you don't want to set it up with the google home app first you won't have access to those. If you buy a Level without GVA you don't have any of these issues, it's less ''smart'' but a much better product to live with in my opinion. There are two B&O shops near the southern end of the ''diagonal'' so maybe have a look in person? Most B&O dealers are super nice and will happily help you out! I know someone who shopped there and they were happy with them but I haven't yet been there myself, worth a shot. :D

Neither of them are just BT speakers, both have line in, Airplay and Chromecast etc. BT is just one of the options. What else do you expect them to do?
