Mortal Kombat 1 is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. It will be the twelfth main installment in the Mortal Kombat series, serving as both a sequel to Mortal Kombat 11 (2019) and the series' second reboot, following Mortal Kombat (2011). The game is set to be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S on September 19, 2023.
Mortal Kombat 1 has been confirmed to feature a story mode, online multiplayer with rollback netcode, and offline gameplay. The game will introduce a feature called Kameo Fighters, which will provide assistance to the player during fights. These characters will be separate from the main roster, and chosen before each fight. Additionally, the Air Kombat combo system which was featured in both Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and the action spin-off Shaolin Monks returns, and is being refined for this game.
As of the game's announcement date, it has been revealed to feature reimagined versions of characters such as Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena and Kenshi. Shang Tsung will be offered as a pre-order bonus. Six additional characters and five kameo fighters are planned for post-launch release via the "Kombat Pack" downloadable content, which also includes a skin for Johnny Cage featuring the likeness of Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Kameo Fighters are a unique roster of partner characters to assist during matches, creating expanded gameplay possibilities for players. These characters are chosen separately from the main roster of fighters.
Some characters can serve as both kameo fighters and main roster fighters. Guest characters can even serve as kameo fighters.
Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 14, 2023 for those who have ordered the game's Kollector's Edition and Premium Edition, while purchasers of the Standard Edition will be able to access the game on September 19, 2023.

I believe that he will not be Noob Saibot in the second game. He will most likely be converted into cyber Sub zero to avoid any emotional afflictions with His brother and smoke from his ending. And most likely, kid Hanzo from the Smoke ending, will be the new Noob Saibot, cus the black robes he was wearing really giving off Noob vibes.

Its likely a Bi Han/Kuai Liang of a different timeline, in My Head Canon its the Sub Zeroes from the MK11 Sub Zero Arcade ending where Bi Han was made into a Decent man by Titan Kuai Liang.

Imo I think bi-han kept his original personality due to liu kang not knowing bi-han personally in mk11 and before so he saw no fit in changing his design. Much like watching kung lao's story ending he believed bi-han to be fine as confident and capable but was never instilled to be humbled.

For those confused why some have different outfits than the default, it’s because those characters were evil and on Shang Tsung’s side. The good version were the ones we played as and were from different timelines, hence the difference in outfits. (SPOILERS) Sindel and Liu Kang have different reasons. Sindel had died to Aftermath Sindel and so this was another good Sindel. Liu Kang is different because the end requires the Fire God Liu Kang next to the player. Edit: omg thx for the likes ❤️

@@danielanthonybalandra2396 No, it doesn't. Watch the full story of MK1, and you'll understand. Some of this karacters are from another timelines. Some from Liu Kang's creation of new era timeline. MK11 tower arcade ending made each karacter we knew in MK11 have become Titan and created their own era/timeline as the creator of that universe respectively. Liu Kang gathered them all to fight Titan Shang Tsung (MK11 Shang Tsung) in MK1 final battle.

I'd argue that for Raiden's case, him fighting side by side with Lui Kang and toppling Shang Tsung at his peak feels like him finally coming into his own as Earthrealm's champion for the new timeline.

He spared Sareena even though she was sent to kill him by Quan Chi and he was hired by Raiden to assassinate Shang Tsung so atleast in the original timeline Raiden thought good of him. Also his arcade ending in 1 has him retire from the Lin Kuei and he quits being an assassin.

I love how throughout the entire story Raiden is always humble. Not saying he was any different when he was a God, but seeing as to how he tended crops and worked it just shows us how much he’s grateful for things. He’s very pure hearted.

Just compare: Shaolin Monks Kung Lao: “You’ll surrender if you know what’s good for you” with severe intonation MK1: “That’s because they never met me” and that disgusting smirk that took away all the mysteriousness and severity that the character had. The renders say it all, just look how Kung Lao looked in mksm, deadly, mysterious and compare that to clown in mk1. The closest to his mksm version was mkx Lao. MK9 was great too. It all went down the hill from mk11. Being a fan of a character since 6 and seeing how they ruined him is just sad

According to dialogue, Liu Kang altered Rain's parentage to be fully mortal so as not to fuel his ego. It didn't stop him from going down a bad path but he does feel remorse for his actions eventually, so still a bit of an improvement.

This was the best story we've gotten since MK9. Did not pan out how I expected and more than just two or three characters felt properly developed and like they belonged. I'm excited to see how a sequel will move the story along now that Liu Kang's timeline has been effectively tipped off balance by Shang Tsung's interference. Loved seeing Mileena, Sindel, Baraka, and Reptile's redemptions. Loved seeing them as good guys and it not feeling out of place or wrong. Reiko, Rain, Nitara, Smoke, Geras, and Tanya felt underdeveloped though. Geras literally wasn't fightable or playable in any chapter besides the final one.(where you can pick ANYONE) Reiko/Nitara/Rain were just jobbers. Smoke/Tanya/Kitana were the only protags w/o playable chapters and it felt odd. Had we not fought Smoke in the first chapter he could've basically been written out of the story, he deserved better. Tanya/Kitana just felt underutilized a little bit. Surprised that Sindel was the only canonical death from the Liu's timeline though. Perhaps that'll change in the likely story expansion teased at the end of the game. Hopefully that's where we see Smoke/Tanya/Kitana get their moments!

Even though there were some jobbers, they still felt really cool to see and didn't seem useless in cutscenes. Nitara was giving Geras and Smoke hell and she didn't have much spotlight. I'm actually excited for what they do in Mk13
