Oooooh the way I clicked when I saw this. God got me out of a 16 year marriage to a narcissist. When he exposed it all even my wig fell off, LOL. I would not have left had God not told me GO! I knew all these years something was off. He wanted to be a Pastor but lived a double life. It was evil the things he was doing and how God revealed AFTER I got out and was safe. He is still singing worship and deceiving women and I only pray for his soul. Since 3 years of therapy I realized I've been surrounded by people with similar traits (not necessarily full blown NPD like him but extremely toxic and deceitful) The Holy Spirit has given clarity on them. Just like Jesus said you are from the Father of lies, narcs are from the Father of deceit. They do it all well and the same way/playbook because he sends them into your life to steal, kill, and destroy your purpose in Christ. Toxic people see your light sometimes before you see it. God gives us this for His glory and narcs know this. They want you to use it for THEIR glory and try to steal it from you to act like you. They are frauds and unfortunately people with true NPD will not repent because they can't imagine being wrong and they have put themselves in the place of God. It is a shame to even speak on the things they do in the darkness. Their FRUIT shows you who they are. Watch them over time and that mask will slip. Anytime there is chaos and confusion, strife and anger THERE IS every evil work. Try that spirit and move slowly in relationships. Deal with your own co-dependency or heart to fix people.

Well, if you had narcissistic personality disorder, you more than likely wouldn't acknowledge that you have it. They don't ever really acknowledge that they have an issue. Never. Trust me. We ALL can and do have narcissistic traits. So, when people speak on this, they really need to say the personality disorder. I pray your strength in the LORD. I often wonder if King Ahab was codependent. Because some of the traits can be one in the same.

@npayne7776 Thanks for asking that question. In the context that I'm hearing this subject matter tonight, it brought up the same question. But I think the answer is no, but that you can unknowingly be a narcissist (the lowkey bashful victim kind) that attracts the outright nasty kind, i think. I'm halfway thru watching this and came to the comments to see if the question popped up plus I have another question lol

@@disaj7460The Holy Spirit has been giving me info pertaining to this subject matter for the past three years. I was Jezebelic, religious, had a victim mentality, a woe is me mentality, unforgiving, harsh on my son, not sympathetic or empathetic at times myself. I feel the Holy Spirit revealed to me that I was codependent due to how I raised. This spirit is in my family on my mom's side. It is a bully and detrimental and deadly in more ways than one. God opened my eyes, renewed me, and changed my heart. So, that I could share this info with others and advise them on how they too can be healed and free. More often then not they tend to reject the info, attack, and is in denial. Even in the body of Christ unfortunately. But all I can do is my part and pray that they are willing to let God in and allow Him to do the rest in Jesus' name. I pray your strength in the Lord in JESUS' NAME. AMEN. The LORD introduced a lot of movies to me based on true stories about people that had NPD and the outcome wasn't very good at all for the most part. Try looking up a movie named Too Close to Home on Tubi if you feel led to and if you get the time. I am sorry that I wrote so much. I just felt led to share all of that with you. GOD LOVE AND CARES FOR YOU AND SO DO I. ❤❤❤

Perfect confidence comes from realizing no matter how the world rates you, you know your value. According to Sigmund Freud narcissism is healthy (a healthy form of self esteem) to a degree everyone is a narcissist. It's when you go off of the spectrum in either direction.
@PrettyIndependent1
@PrettyIndependent1 Жыл бұрын
I thought this was amazing! Yes Ahab was a narcissist himself. He was covert and Jezebel was overt. But most times supply is not another narcissist. Narcissists are attracted to strong people that they love the challenge of subtly breaking down to revolve their lives around them over time. It doesn’t happen day one. Or even two. What I had to realize was that I was codependent and that’s not a narcissist but it’s toxic too because I let my fear of their reactions control my actions. God tells us not to have fear of man. God tells us not to bow to idols. That’s what I was doing. I had to repent. And then I stopped backing down to them. Which lead to more abuse to lead me back into my cage but I refused. God set me free and I’m going to stay in my freedom, power, love and a sound mind. The confusion is gone now that I have the Holy Spirit helping me see things in the spirit and test other spirits. This message is fire because even if you’re a narcissist or a codependent or in fear of a narcissists it’s urging us all to STOP ENABLING THESE NARCISSISTS. CUT OFF THEIR SUPPLY. CORRECT THEM. REBUKE THEM IN LOVE. IF THEY DON’T LISTEN TAKE ANOTHER PERSON AND THEN THE CHURCH LIKE THE BIBLE SAYS. SAY NO. PUT UP BOUNDARIES WHEN THEY TRY TO OVERRUN YOUR BOUNDARIES. Because honestly, you’ll find a lot of these people in the church. It’s the enemy’s assignment to rule over GOD’s people so he blends into churches to find people to prey upon.
@therenaflint2474
@therenaflint2474 8 ай бұрын
I agree this message is on point. In every way. I think the important thing to see is that while in most cases the supply is an empath, what about when you are finding yourself in relationships with multiple narcissists, everytime you get in a relationship the other person is a narc, at this point you may need to realize that rather than being simply an empath perhaps you are a closeted-covert or inverted narc. There is a reason that this is your choice every time. It’s so deep.
@PrettyIndependent1
@PrettyIndependent1 8 ай бұрын
@@therenaflint2474 Narcissists are like the negative side of a magnet. They need someone with the positive side to attach to. Two narcissists are like two negative sided magnets. They can hover around each other but they can’t attach together. For a narcissists relationship to work the way they need it too they need one person to absorb all their negative feelings. If they are mad they need to get mad at you. If they are guilty they need you to apologize to them. If they feel weak they need someone to dominate over. Etc… And when they get in relationships with other narcs the other Narc doesn’t want to do those things either for them. An empath or confused person will take it on. For a relationship with two narcs to work they will need to triangulate a third person to take on their games of control, manipulation, shame, blame, anger, etc… They team up together to get what they want. They play “good” cop, bad cop sometimes. One will be covert than the other. I’ve seen this happen with parents and they have a child they make a scapegoat. Or in businesses where the bosses are abusive to an employee. In churches where it gets cliquey. In schools with bullies. With roommates. With romantic relationship and they involve a “friend”, In gov things where they need people intimidated to do things. Etc…

I'm in the process of getting divorced (separated for 2 years) from an abusive husband and over the weekend had to accept the fact that he is a narcissist. So just YESTERDAY I actually searched on KZfaq to see if Pastor Jerry Flowers had previously done any videos on Narcissism, but there was nothing. I opened KZfaq about 15 minutes ago to see what last night's Therapy Thursday was so that I can play it......this is what it is! I've just been laughing because it's another of God's wonderful miracles 😂 God is GOOD!

That's how God will do!!! (Same here) Let God fight that battle for you and be strong. Stay on guard and do your research. It's many videos here and a support group I joined that told me what to expect so that took the edge off of how far the enemy will go. YOu have to be strong in the Lord for this as they will stop at nothing and go through extreme measures to make you pay or hoover you back. YOU GOT THIS though. God will do yet another miracle for you. 2 years out and God gave me the wisdom to navigate the courts, paperwork, representation, documentation, etc. I'm a witness that after it all was done and it didn't take long though he fought God had the judge grant almost everything in my favor even down to him having to pay MORE than what I was asking for then some. Also, once it ends please celebrate Gods' goodness but don't expect it to be over. I had to go almost full no contact once I got the divorce because he tried to turn kids against me, would not co-parent or follow rules set by courts, and played on my phone and continued to lie. Once he realized I was gone on and not giving him any attention or reaction he finally has calmed down. He still tries to act up here and there but I refuse to be around him or talk. Everything is text unless he adheres to my boundaries which is address me properly and only talk to me about the children. I think the hardest thing was He went from wanting full custody to hurt me to barely calling them weekly (that is actually a blessing in disguise) but IT HURT me to know the person I married was actually this awful person who can't even stop being selfish long enough to love their own kids. As the narcissism unfolds every video had prepped me for what to expect and now I can say I no longer need them. God knows what we need and for what season. I pray you are not beating yourself up or feeling like as a believer you have to deal with such foolery. Our faith can oftentimes make this process harder but if God said GO, I pray you much strength and success for God's glory.

@@GodsChosenMekAmoR Thank You so much - wish I could just give you a big hug. Our stories are so similar. God has been good and He has gotten me through so much. I don't think God wanted me to stay because everything from getting the right lawyer, to getting the finances together for the divorce which was supposed to be impossible. We had many happy years together (or so it seemed) and our kids. We were together for 23 years and it was the last 10 years that everything turned into a nightmare. Unfortunately my kids are with him and he's poisoned them against me. I'm grateful for everything that I've been through because hopefully I can help someone else. I believe God's plan for my life is to help others and I'm finally moving towards a point where that can happen. I would never have gotten through this without God and the best part is that it brought me back to him. The last few years before we separated it literally felt like a dark wall was stuck between God and I. You are an amazing, strong, blessed, beautiful woman and I admire you. Thank You for your words of encouragement, advice and kindness and support. God Bless and I will keep you in my prayers too 💜

This is SOOOO GOOD! What a blessing! I stayed in a marriage for a very long time because the vows said for better or worse and a good Christian stays no matter what. I also didn’t want to be divorced and re married like my parents (6 marriages between the two of them). 😬 I went to therapy some years ago and the therapist asked me why did I think I was different than my parents because i was married longer in one relationship? The therapist then said I was making the same choices as my parents did but WITHIN the marriage 🤯 I have since left in spite of my fear of ridicule for being divorced. God has been delivering me from that period in my life of being an unknowing supply. To any one listening to this being a supply doesn’t make you a narcissist but it does make you part of the problem. Own it and move forward. If you reach out to friends/family for help and they don’t see the problem keep looking for help. Videos like this have a blessing🙏🏾 in my process.

In all the Narcissist studies I’ve done and heard, I have never had narcissism broken down so clearly. Before this word became popular and trending I experienced it one relationship that wore me out so now if I pick up on any red flags I walk away, I spot them and I seperate myself. Before this teaching I couldn’t wrap my mind around a person who would end up in relationship after relationship with the same man with a different name. I know a person with all the narcissistic education one could have but yet and still never escapes the cycle. Every characteristic you described about the closeted covert-inverted narc, I recognize in this person and now it all makes sense to me. Now I know how to pray. Thanks.

There are so many form of narcissism I’ve dealt with a man who is a religious narcissist He proclaims to know and love God but he is not honest, he deflects, gaslights and avoids conflict. Won’t take accountability for the wrong when you call him out on it or will tell me I’m selfish when I called out his wrong. Won’t apologize either. God showed me but I didn’t want to believe it. I had to believe it

My mom is a narcissist, and I don’t want to become like her ever. She never shows up for me emotionally, only for achievements. She never talks to me about my day she only disrupts me and talks about her day like my day didn’t matter or I didn’t work hard enough. I’m going to school and working it’s stressful but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Everyone is just now telling me that she’s always been a narcissistic but they didn’t want to tell me because I was to young to understand what a narcissist is, but now I know. I move out in 6 months when school is over. I’m excited to get my first apartment ever away from her. I won’t be telling her my address because I need some time to myself to uplift myself up again. I’ve filled life with narcissistic friendships it was always horrible, that I thought that I could change their ways but I never could.

I respectfully disagree. If your the supply, your a codependent. Not another narcissist. Yes your trained from childhood to be a dependent, but doesn’t mean your more dangerous than the narcissist. Narcissists seek out supply, so they know the qualities in you that they need.

@user-nevergiveupneverforget I get what the pastor was saying. In reality, a person with NPD can end up with another person who has NPD. Two of them can end up being together. It happens all of the time unknowingly more often than not. The covert narcissist can be even more deadly and dangerous. Because to the outside world they tend to wear that mask very well.

@user-nevergiveup….. those of us who have been in a relationship with a narcissist (romantically or parent-child relationship) more than likely are Empaths and also lacked discernment. Which is why we were chosen to be destroyed. Our light shined too bright and the narc needed to deem it to the best of their abilities if they couldn’t eclipse it. Bro Curry announced he is not a therapist but this is something that needs to be addressed. While what he spoke was 💯 we can’t take what he said as the only scenario. If you know, you know. I have to chew on this a little more because what he is describing as the person mirroring or holding up a mirror to the overt narcissist sounds a lot like empathetic behavior. Narcissists are attracted to empaths not to other narcissists is what I always understood. So I would love for him to distinguish between empaths and the mirroring narcissists because I’m confused at this point.

@@LovelyinspoI agree. As a therapist who specializes in helping victims of narcs. Victims of narcs will mirror some of their behaviors not because they are narcs but out of fear and trying to please the narc. Most victims of narc are experiencing trauma responses and focusing on how “make” the narc love them and treat them good like they did during the love bomb phase. It’s a whole cycle. This means towards victim blaming.

I love the message that I disagree on certain things Pastor Curry. And narcs attract other narcs... Majority of the time Empaths ATTRACT narcissistic ppl. ALL narcissistic ppl need supply. Narcs MIRROR the positive qualities in Empaths not the other way around. They become what Empaths have been desiring that's why they listen to them talk so they can BE whom they're looking for in a mate, friendship, etc. Most times Empaths don't know they're one and most don't even KNOW nor understand Narcissism... especially in our community. I speak from experience bc I didn't know I was an Empath. I was in a 6yr abusive covert narcissistic sociopathic relationship where he LITERALLY tried to take my life by strangulation on Nov 20, 22. I couldn't leave due to serious health issues and he was the sole provider. I was in a Narcissistic Abusive Recovery support group for over a year on & off. I've been studying all things Narcissism for about 4 yrs. I learned soooo much about it and I'm still learning. I just wanted to share that. I'm going to study the scriptures given as well. I appreciate your teaching on this. Can y'all also do a Therapy Thursday on Spiritual Narcissists? Thank you.

I have now watched the video and I would like to say that you make it sound like ALL of us who have been a victim of abuse from a narcissist are narcissists too just because we're their supply? That all of us saw that the person was a narcissist and continued in the relationship anyway? That none of the narcissists were able to be so subtle that it takes years before you know what is actually going on or when they seemingly suddenly just change towards you and break you down to the point that you feel so worthless that you tell God that you are the one mistake He's ever made? Your intention might be to have a generalised message, but it's not how it comes across. There'll be many victims who the narcissist will have already convinced that they are the problem that will hear this and believe that the narcissist is right because a "supply" is a "mirror narcissist"
@Lovelyinspo
@Lovelyinspo Жыл бұрын
I agree. This message was a bit confusing because a lot of the characteristics is normal if you experienced trauma. I don't like the idea of being called a narcissist because you mat have been in a relationship or parent who was a narcissist. This blames the victim which is what the narc wants. It's abusing the person all over again

As future therapist I didnt like this message. Two Narcs cant be in a relationship. One has to be the dominanet, and the other is being broken in the process. Thats what Jezebel did. She broke down Ahab sense of being a man so he couldn't be the leader. To say one is a covert narc/mirror because of the abuse they experienced is dangerous. The way in which trauma changes the brain, ones identity, safety, security and trust is not the fault of the victim of Narc abuse. So is it the fault of a child who grew up in a traumatic home they experience low self esteem? Many of the traits listed are normal traits for any human to experience through life development. It is normal to experience low confidence at times & shy at times. It is dangerous to put a label on someone. That is my issue with the DSM-5 because labels can be dangerous. Youre speaking those words over you and subconsciously you will behave in that way. This is the plans of the enemy. The bible says renew the mind & life and death is in the power of the tongue. I think its great to warn people how to spot a Narc but not to blaim the victim. This would cause a hindrance to someone being set free or seeking help because of selfblame and guilt that one may already be experiencing.

I agree. I, too, have a mental health background. I'm actually working on my dissertation to obtain my PhD in Psychology, so I'm close now.😁 Like you, for me this message is a bit concerning because, to assume and imply that the person on the receiving end of the narcissism is also a narcissist is dangerous. Plus, not everything is linked to narcissism, and I believe society is not abusing this term and labeling almost everyone as a narcissist. On the other hand, however, it is possible and more likely for a child who is raised by one or more narcissistic parents to develop and exhibit strong narcissistic traits in adolescence and adulthood. I agree with Pastor Curry in that narcissism is not an innate condition, but rather one that is developed (most often in childhood). While mental health is a very critical subject, and I'm happy to hear the church finally discussing it, I think it may be safe for the church to partner with qualified mental health specialists to facilitate these discussions.

@@crystalgarry2507 congraulations! Thats so amazing and I am proud of you. I agree fully with everything you said. When speaking on topics like this it could defintely be helpful to allow a qualified mental health professional to speak about this. So many people could use the help espically in the church. I knew I had some narcissistic traits/tendencies ...mostly because I've dealt with narcissistic folks, controlling parents & partners. Id be more on the closeted in I guess.....(mirror maybe? My confusion on this part. Is closeted & mirror the same? I kept getting confused) I've always been shy. Very emotionally sensitive & hard to take criticism while at the same time, I know why it's hard for me to take it. I've gotten a lot more harsh criticism than positive reinforcement. Now that I have a better understanding, maybe I can work on the change. And I do take accountability. Many times, im very hard on myself and take blame for stuff I know logically I shouldn't. Stemming from low self esteem (or non existent self esteem) and being blamed for things I didn't have anything to do with. Made the problem, even "today" when I work on not being the problem. I was taught to be the supply...wow...😢...so much to work on. ☹...I do need help...its causing a lot of mental, emotional & physical health issues.
