Pursuit of Accuracy

Күн бұрын

Check out our new B14R with the IBI 16 twist 22" prefit barrel.
We take the B14R out for a stroll on the toughest single day rimfire match in the nation with no data, no preperation, no fancy gadgets or gizmos.
Just an idiot, a rifle, and no shot at victory
Please enjoy a few minutes of my misery :)

This gives me comfort... kinda like misery loves company when I’m having days like yours. Same experience After spending a lot purchasing an expensive top of the line rimfire rig specifically for accuracy and dependability, it was so frustrating that the cheaper modded older rigs performed a whole lot better. The premium price for that rifle did not justify having it further modded so after contemplating I just ended up giving it to an in-law who fortunately appreciate it for what it is. Still an accurate rig, just not as I expected regardless of what premium ammo I put thru it. 😶

@@PursuitofAccuracy agreed. Just frustrating getting those lemons with premium products because I’ve tried out a similar model Of a fellow shooters and it was fun to shoot with inexpensive ammo to boot. Saved up to buy one for myself and it was a disappointment. At first I thought it was something else like just proper torque settings, ammo selection, not setting up the scope properly, proper or Break in methods, making sure the stock is not the problem, is the headspace And chamber ok or the barrel is properly floated or do I need more Bedding, was the crown was undamaged... etc...But after about 2 mos of trying to figure out how to get it to shoot like a rifle in its price... just accepted things for what they are and gave it away. At least no more stress in figuring out what was wrong. 😬

About time someone brings out an a good camera with a long lens that top mounts on a rail, but doesn't look through the optic robbing the light ATN Shot track style. Could digitally add the cross hairs like the NV units but of your chosen scope like the Strelok list. Line of sight wouldn't be perfect for holdover etc but good enough for camera work.

Wow, even knowing your reticle is on a target half the time I don't recognize it! Glad you took the sideshot off when it was hurting to use, the behind view is educational. on the moving target at that distance did you already know how far to lead it? Is the b14 using that convex cone shape on the bolt face, or have they gone to a flat face barrel. I’ve not had one come into the shop, that’s a tough way to do a pre fit with a lot of trust in the CNC cut parts. The actions I’ve seen have been out of square which can have you chasing zero. Only a few parts have to fit well, barrel to action and bolt to action and barrel

I am very disappointed with my stock Bergara, I feel the bolt design is crap. Shooting any ammo is difficult, shooting Eley is next to impossible. Bergara offers NO solution! Will be going to a CZ 457 LRP.

Backing out the firing pin assembly 1-2 full rotation counter clock wise will reduce bolt lock. Profiling the cocking ramp with a less steeper slope and high polish helps. Best upgrade is to add a 30 degree bevel to the bolt locking lugs. My recent video I made show cases all these mods and can now operate the bolt with one finger

@@PursuitofAccuracy When you're getting in position and the scope cam is on the perspective is shifting like it's loose on the eye piece. The reticle is all over the place instead of staying centered like in all the other scope footage I've seen. If there's a lens in the scope cam maybe it was messing with your parallax and causing some of the issues you were having.

@@Andyontherange no doubt. I usually only have to tweak past 200 and it’s not usually more than .4 off at the further distances. Thankfully most targets in rimfire matches are usually tall at those distances.

The bolts get better with use. No it won't be a Vudoo all said and done. But my Carbon actually improved in accuracy at about 1200rnds in. And I've had pretty good success on stuff requiring speed (fast bolt manipulation). Mine is 2 years old and has about 5,000 rounds through it.
