I’m a little surprised it came in at 514 GT. Seems like a fair amount of additional regulatory complications for a less than 3% volume increase. So I’m assuming it was driven by owner changes during the build process. Beautiful boat and definitely one of my favorite explorers up there with the Damen 60 SeaXplorer (which is obviously a much large platform).

He said 514 metric tonnes of displacement. GT is 499.

Gross tons is an internal volume measurement. Displacement is a weight measurement of water that is displaced by the weight. The Berings displace more than their volume, unlike most yachts, because they are build more sturdy than most yachts. If I was in a yacht having to weather harsh seas, I would very much want that yacht to be a Bering.

Yes....I wonder why they never came back to give a full walk through after it was completed like they said they would? Maybe the owner didn't want it?

@@jacobyrassilon The owners are unlikely to go out of their way, holding back their own use of a ship for at least a day while also committing their crew to have the ship in full guest mode. Likely when HEEUS was ready, the owner took possession right away, or so fast anyway that the Nautistyles folks didn't have time to get there to do their full up walkthrough.

Four or five years ago I'd have guestimated the price at between 25-30 million. But with the monetary inflation the world has seen in the last few years, it is now really hard to say. My wildass guess right now is closer to 40 million for a new build.
