Bering Yachts is proud to announce the launch of 65 hull no. #2.
Modeled after proven North Atlantic commercial trawlers, her heavy full-displacement hull is ideally suited for the rigors of open ocean travel. The design of the raised pilothouse is rooted in tradition but also highly functional and has become a hallmark of expedition yachts in this class. With efficient, commercially-rated diesel engines and voluminous fuel tanks, she can easily travel 5,000 nautical miles at 6-7 knots without the need for refueling.
The interior floor plan of the 65 includes three spacious staterooms, each with its own private ensuite head, and a crew quarters for two. The interior varnish of American Ash reflect the owners’ wishes, as does the custom-installed teak flooring, an extensive Furuno electronic package and Seakeeper M35 Gyro Stabilizer.

Very nice yachts I can't wait to see the 80 model with the jacuzzi 😉and I wish I could see somebody taking one out at see and traveling and having adventure with one of your boat there would be no greater publicity than that 😁 this channel would explode and the order wouldn't stop coming in 😉but you guys have the best looking trawler so far !

I have been building toward a Nordhavn for quite some time now. After learning more and more about the Bering yachts I really don't know now. I'm going to have to do some heavy research into this yacht Builder.

tackless the biggest difference is that Bering uses steel hills and nordhavn uses fiberglass, the steel will be a lot more forgiving if you hit rocks or a reef, plus it will be easier and cheaper to repair steel.

The 77 has double thick steel hull - quite possibly the beefiest build I've ever seen. It's amazing. Diebold steering is out of this world; totally industrial strength build. They could copy it to a house build without the pilot house and it would be a massive amount of square footage. The galley is a kitchen to die for as are the bedrooms and en-suites. Just incredibly well built

Gary Zimmerman You’re right man I notice that too, actually this is the first thing I look at in a boat 👍 And I noticed elling E6 the best boat in that and Norhavn n63 the 2nd. This boat it’s really beautiful, I hope in the future they pay attention to this problem in the design👍

These boats are built for passage making. Still, I think if I were two days out on a crossing and it got wavy I’d be scared.

I wonder if it's possible to install a kite up front to increase fuel efficiency for slow, long distance trips, or is this yacht too heavy for one to be practical?

I know but as a old professional sailor l will never have my cabin forward it is the worst place during sailing in a choppy sea

The yacht is great in many ways, yet the interior, you have to do something about that, cause with a great interior, this yacht could be really great,

Nice boat but so sad to look at the sea, the color clearly shows the pollution form China. I have sailed the Pacific from California to china south to Australia and never saw nasty water like that..

How does this compare to the Nordhavn?

+cornskid If I am not mistaken, the air draft on the B65 is taller than on the Nordhavn 68, even though the Nordhavn has a taller superstructure, the main deck is almost at the waterline making it shorter overall than the B 65. That is also the reason why the bow height on the N68 is only 10 ft and on the B 65 is 12 ft I believe and also why the N 68 has a deeper draft. Nordhavn seems roomier in the inside but the B 65 in my opinion, seems a better, more seaworthy boat although I could see a wife pressuring to get a N 60/64/68 over a B 65.

+Jantony Velazquez the Bering 65 is probably as spacious inside as the N68. B65's layout features 3 en-suite staterooms with queen sized beds and one en-suite crew cabin. Overall boat is not as tall as the N68 though.

+🚢 Bering Yachts I remember reading somewhere that the N68 was 30 feet tall but I can't find the source and searched the web and can't find the air draft measurement anywhere and I am sure you guys know more about the trawler offerings out there so thank you for clearing that up. I was wondering why does Serge has 2 stainless steel support posts forward in the fly bridge that Namaste doesn't have?

Namaste's hardtop is made of steel, whereas Serge's is made of fiberglass.

+radbcc I think the major difference is that Bering use Steel instead of Fiberglass for the hull construction. The interior is much more modern and nicer...but i'm sure if you speak with the ship builder they can always change it with extra cost. If you compare B65 with N64, according to their web, B65 can operate 5000+ NM whereas N64 only 3000+ NM...i guess its because of the twin engine.

They had another massive refrigerator freezer on the left in the hall on the way to the engine room. Speaking of galleys, you should see the one on the Bering 77. Might change your mind. 😉

It has a bulbous bow, this likely improves the ride through waves and improves fuel efficiency and speed a little. Displacement hulls plow the water, even those that don't appear to.
