Bernard Butler performing Stay on Jools Holland's show. Bit of a quality upgrade from the version already on KZfaq. Not owned by me in any way, and I'll take down this or anything that the copyright owners want me to.

With the so so beautiful Denise Johnson on backing vocals - everything she was a part of back then, she added the needed soul, warmth, and most essentially, that total 'added ingredient' that made many songs of that era, fucking masterpieces. Such a lovely person also, I miss her so much.

One of the best songs from the 1990's. It's pure heaven. Epic on the scale of many great Suede moments prior. Much respect to Bernard. My dad took a punt on Friends And Lovers back in the day and that introduced me to him and his work. 'Cocoon' from that album is equally as brilliant. Phenomenal player and fantastic writer. Much was made of his lack of vocal talent back in the day but in hindsight, what's the problem? We've heard a lot, lot worse.

I agree, his voice isn't half bad I always thought.

Denise really elevated every song she sang on.

That red semi-hollow Gibson alone makes it superb.

in Suede he was amazing and wrote amazing riffs and licks. I think he's not one of the greatest guitarist ever, but a really underrated/underappreciated one

I strongly agree. When he was live in Suede he would do rhythm and lead guitar the same time, genius! And he's a great vocalist in my opinion. As for songwriting, his solo stuff is just brilliant.

I am pretty sure that is Johnny Mar’s guitar he is using. Does anyone know for sure?
@sadiemelt6 ай бұрын
no, it's his guitar gibson ES-355
@domingoherrera44456 ай бұрын
i think in the video is his classical es355 he always uses, but for the original song he actually recorded with a guitar Marr gifted him (english is not my first language)

I know Johnny gave Noel Gallagher. One but he's not mates with Bernard. (No beef but not mates), but Johnny did mention that he gifted NG and he also mentioned Bernard had one. The one Johnny has was gifted when in the Smith's by Seymour Stein

How do Bernard Butler and Johnny Marr get their hair to look so incredibly fake, when it isn't?
@siddhartino Жыл бұрын
by dyeing their hair black as squid ink and straightening it, lol
