It’s distracting and disrespectful to try to listen with the children making noise in the background. You know what I mean.

It is better to have the children as part of the congregation.

Bluzette, Well, its MORE disrespectful to have the children and adults with phones making noises during the concert or a movie. In general, Karen Ariel Lee is absolutely correct in stating that the children are part of a congregation. Its incredibly disrespectful to leave the children home alone with a baby sitter when they could at least grow and experience the beauty of communial gathering. That is what a church and synagogue is all about! It is about the chance for the young generations to grow, and learn out of experience, and to embrace the religion of their previous generations. We, humans are made to thrive, experience the thrill of learning something new each and every day.

It is valid branch of Judaism. This is a Conservative shul.

Brian Ellis, Reform Judaism, is a liberal form of Judaism. It is a direct opposite of what traditional Judaism is in terms of Orthodox. But it is still Judaism, regardless. Its the same with Christianity. Am I'm right or not? Have you observe Conservative Judaism?
