Kovalev is so fluid as a fighter. Such textbook technique with the jabs and combos. Really good movement of the body and head, timing is on point. People underrated Kovalev's boxing skills, the reason why he knocks people out is because he uses feints and gets into positions at angles people don't see coming. He knocked out Sillayhk with a lead right cross and a jab, most people don't think to throw a 2-1. He feinted Hopkins into getting out of position and opened him to a knockdown with a feint. These aren't traditional Russian techniques, these are Russian fundamentals (best in world) with American swagger. Golovkin has his Kazahk style (former Soviet nation trainers), great fundamentals, conditioning, mixed with Abel Sanchez of smart, technical brawling in Mexican style. Kovalev has that Russian fundamental, Olympic pedigree mixed with John David Jackson's American style (swagger), a lot of feints and shoulder rolls, mixing in controlled aggression, smart boxing with his power. Kovalev and Golovkin are the new wrecking balls in the higher weight divisions.

I want Hopkins to win so bad I could never pick against him, Hopkins by ud in a master class. Nothing beats watching the old pro's like duran,holmes,moore,foreman and hopkins in their old age. They seem to land cleaner shots in their old age, a lot less but cleaner because they know what to throw and the time to throw it. Hoping Hopkins can lead kovalev into clean right hands all night. This fight is crazy but 50 year old vs....

After watching this video and seeing how nervous Kovalev seems to be I am leaning towards Hopkins on Points. Kovalev looks so tense and even being around so many photographers seemed to make him nervous. I see a big difference in Kovalev from 2 weeks ago. I think he knows he is going in the ring with a master boxer. If he is this nervous on fight night then we may be looking at Hopkins v Pavlik 2

I think the result to the Hopkins vs Kovalev fight will depend on how well Hopkins can deal with Kovalev's punching power. You got to figure that at some point they are both going to do some serious trading if only briefly, and remember, Kovalev doesn't need several rounds to wear a guy down. I could be lights out for B-hop. However, should B-hop avoid whatever Kovalev dishes out then he may want to change his fighting name from The Alien" to ""The Magician".

Kovalev hits hard. Very hard. And he's a smart puncher. But I think Andre Ward will outpoint him. Ward has a big bag of tricks (see Carl Froch fight).

I'm not overly impressed with Kovalev. He's a big puncher but other then that he's not that great and i think his only real chance of winning is knocking Hopkins out otherwise he's going to get outboxed
