Hi PQ&U, thanks for asking. In general, it is possible to use the BERNINA Embroidery Software 9 to create design files for the artista. The critical question is: How will you transfer the files from your computer to your artista? We assume that, so far, you have been working with old embroidery cards. We don't offer official support for the use of the Embroidery Software 9/ artista 180 combination, because the artista 180 has a RS32 port. It is not possible to use USB sticks or cables. If you have a computer with direct RS32 connection (cable) to your artista 180, it might work. It’s not likely though that such a computer will meet the BERNINA Embroidery Software 9 system requirements. There are RS32-to-USB adapters (not expensive). However, from our experience they do not always work reliably. We would recommend that you use the 30 days free trial version of the BERNINA Embroidery Software to find out if you can use it with your machine.

Hi Rita, thanks for asking. The embroidery design was digitized by Hannah based on a drawing by her daughter. If you search online for "dancing avocado" you will find similar images that you can use as a basis for your own embroidery designs. However, please make sure that you don't use any copyrighted works! Maybe you would like to draw a fun avocado yourself? You can then scan your drawing and use it as a template for the next steps - just like Hannah shows in the webinar.

Hi S M, the BERNINA Embroidery Software is NOT a native Mac software. It can be installed on Intel-based Mac computers using Boot Camp to run Windows 10/11 on a dedicated partition. The use of virtual machine software to run Windows within the Mac OS is not supported. A partition of at least 85GB is required, 100 GB is recommended. Please ask your BERNINA dealer for more information.

You can also get Parallels for your Mac, and once it's loaded you can easily switch back and forth from the iOS to a Windows platform. I have it, and the Bernina v9 software works well!

Hi K0cosNuSsCHiller, the BERNINA 435 is a sewing machine that has no embroidery functionality. Perhaps you are referring to the older BERNINA aurora 435? This model, which is no longer part of our product portfolio, was embroidery capable. The embroidery module could be purchased as an optional add-on. The BERNINA Embroidery Software on the other hand is not machine dependent, it is installed and used on a PC. Embroidery files for any embroidery-capable machine can be created with the software. It is even possible to export files in formats for other (non BERNINA) brands.

@@BerninaInternational it is a new bernina sewing machine. the B435 from the E category line. But I think it is not capable for the software. the product name is EC1 B435, sewing machine. could you confirm this maybe? otherwise I am highly intrested in purchasing the software and the extension. @@K0cosNuSsCHiller Thanks for clarifying. The BERNINA 435 is not capable of embroidery. It is a sewing-only machine. The use of the software is basically possible independently of the machine, because the software is installed on the PC. However, with the BERNINA 435 it is not possible to work out embroidery files.

I understand that you already have the BERNINA 435. Then maybe the bernette 70 DECO embroidery-only machine the could be an option for you. If you are looking for a BERNINA machine: All BERNINA machines of the current 5 Series, 7 Series and 8 Series are embroidery capable. Some come standard with the embroidery module, some are offered as sewing machines with the embroidery module offered as a separate option. The best advise we can give you is to visit your BERNINA dealer who will gladly support you with all the information you need and let you test-drive different machines.
