The Bersa TPR9C is a very nice, compact, alloy frame 9mm pistol that is well suited for lefties. Ambidextrous Safety, Slide Lock/Release and a reversible magazine release make it a great choice for Left or Right handed folks. This Single or Double action pistol sports a slightly above average trigger with an exceptionally short reset. The metal 3-dot sights are easy to see but are drift adjustable for windage only. The polymer grips are not my favorite but the alloy frame is a nice break from the hum-drum polymer personal protection pistols.

I had the money to spend more, but I went with the Bersa Tpr9 after watching several reviews. I bought the compact first and loved it so much I bought the full size too for a matching set. These are top quality pistols! They are budget friendly but in no way are they cheap. I compare them to my Sigs and there is not any practical difference other than the price.

I have the same weapon and I put 2 inch groups at 30 feet constant, 1 inchers at 15 feet, no pods. It has never failed a single round, ever, so I upgraded the sights with a TRUGLO TFX Pro Tritium and Fiber Optic and a Baldr Mini Olight 600 with GL and it's great. This gun has a good weight, super short reset, good solid feel, very accurate and almost no recoil. The best part is that it only costed me 429 dollars. Very well made all metal gun, better than many with bigger names and less expensive. Super reliable. It's been my daily carry for almost 2 years.

I had the predecessor. Bersa thunder 9 ultra compact. Same gun as this just updated look. It was my 1st CCW, carried it nearly 9 years. Many thousands of rounds, never a single malfunction. Extremely dependable gun for carry. I finally made better money, bought SIG's...BC guns shouldn't be plastic!!! To me the bersa thunder 9 is a Sig without the top notch finish work.

Nice firearm there, and she's a reliable, easy to takedown, and all metal badass. I have also her big brother, BERSA Pro 9 XT, and its a laser pointer as far as accuracy because it comes with fiber optic front with adjustable rear sights by LPA. The BERSA Pro XT comes with 5 made in Italy 17 round magazines. She is my go to firearm at home, and its all because of its accuracy, just point, and shoot, right on target, and I never had not 1 hiccup with any of my BERSA's.

Great review Sr, I am from Agentina. Bersa makes their guns by hand and they create themselves the tools to build them. @@SmallCaliberArmsReview If you swap the Thunders factory recoil spring out with a 17 lb Walther PP spring (not the PPK) it makes it less snappy. Makes the slide harder to manipulate, but like you said, if you get a dud, it usually hits on the second squeeze. Thunders not a super tactical gun but it’s extremely accurate with the fixed barrel.

Excellent review! I just checked my two Bersa's the TPR9 and TPR9C and both barrels looked good. Maybe Bersa needs to work harder on quality control. Best thing that Bersa got going on is their trigger, best reset I ever felt. I have been carrying the TPR9C for 11 months now and is super comfortable. Another good thing is that Sig Sauer sights are a perfect fit on these Bersas, I replaced mine as soon as I got them!

Someone else explained to me that the rifling in the barrel is called polygonal or multi-radial which explains why it looked odd to me and I couldn't get a real clear image on the borescope. The finish on the outside of the barrel just looks uneven or splotchy. The finish on the rest of the gun is excellent and the accuracy is great too. Thanks for watching!

If anyone is considering this gun. I can testify it is a workhorse of a pistol. I have many hand guns. My Bersa 9mm is just about on top as my favorite to shoot.I have put several thousand rounds through it. Mine is the older version. Ultra compact pro. But other than some aesthetic differences. Essentially the same gun. They are extremely accurate out to about 20 yds. The trigger pull is second, and I mean second to none. At least IMO. 2 negatives are, 1) as stated in the video. The finish. Which doesn't affect the function of the gun at all. 2) Is the weight. Being a all metal gun, It just has to be. It can't compare to my S&W Shield Plus. My EDC .

My favorite sub compact pistol. The finish on mine is great so I don't know why yours isn't. Hand fitted and no tooling marks. You should know that the barrel is a polygonal rifled barrel so that is why the rifling looks odd. The barrel is a match grade barrel and its very accurate. Sweet trigger. Smooth DA and clean breaking SA with short reset. Thanks for sharing.

@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Polygonal rifling (/pəˈlɪɡənəl/ pə-LIG-ə-nəl) is a type of gun barrel rifling where the traditional sharp-edged "lands and grooves" are replaced by less pronounced "hills and valleys", so the barrel bore has a polygonal (usually hexagonal or octagonal) cross-sectional profile. In more modern designs, the Italian firearm manufacturer Sabatti S.P.A. published a press release on September 7, 2017, describing a special type of uncornered polygonal rifling with rounded valleys, dubbed multi-radial rifling.
@SmallCaliberArmsReview
@SmallCaliberArmsReview 2 жыл бұрын
@@rbm6184 that makes sense now. Thanks for the explanation!
@rbm6184
@rbm6184 2 жыл бұрын
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview I prefer traditional rifling with minimal fouling. Polygonal rifling makes barrel production easier for the manufacturer and gives a slight increase in velocity with a tight pressure seal in small diameters but polygonal rifling does not shoot soft lead bullets very well. Traditional rifling cuts the bullet to grab it and stabilize it and spin it while polygonal rifling squeezes the bullet. The squeezing causes the bullet to frequently skip over the hills and deposit excessive lead in streaks. This build up reduces barrel diameter and can cause higher pressures that can blow up a gun. So lead bullets must have a much greater hardness to be shot effectively in polygonal rifling where softer lead causes dangerous build up. Many manufacturers today are moving away from polygonal rifling and back to traditional rifling. If folks stick to jacketed or coated bullets then they don't have to worry about any of that in polygonal bores.

FYI...the barrel does not have traditional rifling. Instead, it has polygonal rifling, which is probably what you're seeing. It allows for a tighter seal and less bullet deformation. This feature is usually only found on high-end manufacturer barrels. Also, you should not shoot lead bullets as it will foul that rifling, only copper jacketed. Otherwise, great presentation. I have about 7 Bersas and love them all. They are truly under rated. Be well.

Okay saw this comment. Getting ready to write a comment about the polygonal rifling! I have the older version of this gun. Ultra compact pro 9mm. Can't tell you how many rounds I've put through it. They are fantastic pistols. Very accurate. Will hang with any hand gun out to about 20 yds. Almost never a malfunction. I believe I've had a grand total of 2. Lol . I do agree. That the finish is sub par. I just keep mine touched up with the Birchwood Casey stuff.

@@rogercarrico4975 I, too, have the Thunder9 Ultra Compact Pro. I took it to four days of shooting at Front Sight against 32 other guys with their Glocks, Colts, Kimbers, etc. and it kept up with all of them and better than many of them at 1/3 the cost. I was so impressed that I bought another one just like it! I also have the the new version, TPR9C I think it's called, and for some reason I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it. I'm sure it's just me, but it was really frustrating me. I also have several Thunder 380s and am equally impressed. Very under rated tools.

Bersa in So America are known to be duty guns, whether military or police, where function is everthing, especially in Brazil. Its considered a tool, rather than an a fashion accessorie, like alot of us think of them here in the states. But there known to have really decent triggers, an that barrel could be cut with 5r rifling, couldn't see it real good in the pic you showed on my tablet. Price point ? Thx for the vid Richard

Plus P from a short barrel is not really delivering the punch of a full size anyways. I would pick the ammo that allows you to take the best follow up shots with a barrel this short. Perhaps even round nosed subsonics. PPU makes a 158 grain that has a bullet length of .740 inches, very long bullet, moving much slower than average (850 FPS) very easy to shoot and will tumble due to length of bullet and slow speed.

I watched the video again and I got curious. I went and dug the pistol out of the safe to see why I did that. I loaded a few rounds in one of the magazines, then I remembered. The magazine does a nosedive as soon as you push down on the front of it, the follower tips to the front very easily. I use my offhand to get it started in the downward motion, then use the round to push it the rest of the way. That's why the loading tool works a lot better with these magazines, it pushes the rounds down closer to the back and doesn't tip the follower as much. When I push the round down, I have it as far rearward as possible, all the way against the lips. @@DCopp
