I honestly think Guts was taken aback from that transformation. It was a horse he was riding, he must have had a connection or love for that horse. And have turn into a monster probably didnt sit well with guts. And not having time to process what happened to that horse just sorta took its time. It probably went on the back of his head like wtf happen to that horse?

Probably gonna get lost in the sea of comments but I just saw a great post on reddit that I thought would be cool to share. Basically it was a discussion on if the Moonlight child was to be named, like given an in story cannon name what it would be. Someone commented something along the lines of Isma being able to change her form by using her real name and perhaps if Guts and Casca were to name the child and the child accepted it, it could sever the link between him and Griffith. Something like that, I thought it was wild and would be sick if true

I’ve no idea how people are saying this, because the last 2 chapters were the weakest of the new chapters. It’s very clear in these chapters that it’s not Miura, the characters all look a little off, but the worst is the shading, look how the characters just blend into the ship around them, Miura wouldn’t have done that. How the shading is done looks really really off.

Guts has been one of my favorite and most looked up to characters in fiction for a while now. Seeing his journey has really taught me a lot about how to be a better adult and what really matters in life. To see him now in total despair is heartbreaking. Never have I wished for more than to be able to jump into a story and just sit there and be there for someone.

The reason, there was no time skip when Griffith returned from Elfhelm was because of the world tree. Elfhelm became part of the real world. The same way all the mystical creatures became real.

When Schierke says that her voice was going away, maybe it was actually in reference to her restraining Guts' beast of darkness whenever he would use the berserker armour before but now she sees that he's giving in to the beast and she can't restrain it anymore and pull Guts from its influence. Probably not, but that's sort of what I thought of, especially when she just saw Guts' breakdown. Found that line to be the most interesting in the whole chapter though and I'm really curious to see what it means going further. Loving the direction the series is going in.

That image of Guts descending into the water looks similar to Griffith when he descended to that big black heart......I don’t know how to feel about that but I’m worried 😦 Water is also seen as symbolism for the subconscious mind as well.....so there could be a part of him he might be unlocking. I’m not too sure.

Between the hero who is cradling in a foetus position because of PTSD and a villian who gets turn into a child whenever there is a full moon, I am not sure who I want to root for anymore...hope skull knight appears soon to educate us fans more about the lore

The burning buildings in Guts memory is from Vritannis when Shierke used the fire wheel. There was a spiral of burning houses that started the spells' error symbolism

yeah, this chapter is setting up the main players in this Arc , i won't expect more action but its really gonna be good and as for the ageing thing , maybe falconia has the same effect as elfhem because of the tree

I imagine that after this event, Guts is going to have his own band maybe something called Band of the Black Wolf. He will master the berserk armor with schierke, get together with Rickert and possibly the Kushan dude too.(i don't remember his name)

Damn The Beast of Darkness really did shut out Shierke from Guts's mind.( When it shut its fangs really hard) I think this means BofD is getting more control over Guts and also more powerful. The next time Guts will use The Berserker Armour would be very bad for everyone else. I think Shierke will have a really hard time entering Guts mind maybe she can't enter it anymore when he's using the armour. I think this is what it means when Schierke says that her voice is lost.

I think I figured out what’s gonna happen!! After enough time to marinate…..with the teeth closing and cutting Guts off spiritually and making him basically unable to be reached either externally or internally, and making it clear that the main transition that just occurred is the beast is no longer just an influence, it’s now the pilot of Guts body. And the beast will absolutely use the Behlit. I’m feeling pretty damn confident about this….AND. And this is key, I think Griffith main reason for taking Caska, was to trigger this event with Guts!

Very obvious what’s gonna happen 😂 . It’s has been hinted many times that (Guts is the True idea of evil) that’s why slan smirked at him during the eclipse unlike the other apostle slan knows the power guts will have over both planes once he totally loses it. this chapter is the first stage of his transformation, just like how Griffith was transforming during the eclipse. Very symbolic but the only difference is guts is the (True idea of evil) he will sacrifice his berserk armor and sword and he will become the beast entity himself but because he’s a being that strives against fate, he’ll be something worse than all the apostles himself.

They’re not separate entities, Guts true father is the emperor as hinted in the earlier chapters. U have to rlly see the points of what mira was tryna show us. (guts) is the embodiment of death/evil since he was born into death (the negative) the beast of darkness is (guts) but he suppressed that side cuz of his strong willed nature. In the next chapter you will see what I mean 😂

The true meaning of this entire thing is that (griffith) the morning star is only “mimicking” God. (Guts) on the other hand is the embodiment of true evil hence why that beast of darkness entity is what he truly is deep inside.

About the time distortion, it's already been clarified and you missed it, that the time spent on the island was faster than the outer world. Nothing changed in the outside world because the time on the island is faster. So at most a few hours or a day have passed outside of the island.

For some reason, I felt like I knew how Berserk would end. I don't know why, but it seems to me that Guts will actually somehow defeat/kill Gryffith, but in the process he will die/or suffer an even worse fate. In the end, both will be equal in death or fate. Gryffith's dream will be destroyed and Guts' dream will be fulfilled, so at some point he will win.

About the whole time speeding up thing, its not that it was forgotten, its just that its the other way around. Time on the island is slower than the rest of the world. The moonlight child was able to stay on the island for 2 nights and a day because the full moon was still out for the rest of the world. Its why no one noticed Puck was gone for that long, it was about a 4 year leave for Puck but for them it mightve only been a year and a half.

The Morningstar actually has a dual symbolism, it refers to both Jesus Christ and his counterfeit, lucifer who fancies himself a bearer of light. Also the morning star is equally symbolic of the sun.
