Cecilie BERTHA Ringer BENZ was a bold German visionary long before the spoke of female empowerment. She changed the world as we know it. Even as a minor, she asked her father to emancipate her so that she could take her dowry in advance and invest in the small business that her fiancé Carl Michel Vaillant Benz was starting there in Pforzheim. They later moved to Manheim, where they founded a metallurgist interprise, in which Carl created his prototype used for the patent application, granted in January 1886. For THREE years, through magazine advertisements, newspapers and exhibition fairs, he tried unsuccessfully to sell his product but nobody wanted it, it was thought that it was much more practical (and cheap) to use a horse than that "contraption". This led to the bankruptcy of the Benz family metallurgist, with the attachment of all machines and equipment for auction. Only the small vehicle was left, even the bank didn't want it. But Bertha believed in the invention of the desperate and desperate husband and secretly planned to help him. In the early hours of August 5, 1888, with the help of his teenage sons, Eugen and Richard, she moved away from home and started the engine of Patent Wagen No. 3 (the first two were very fragile and unstable - no one had actually run satisfactorily with them) and undertook one of the most important journeys in the history of mankind. At that oment she just wanted to save her family. After sixty-six miles to her hometown of Pforzheim, she not only publicized her husband's upbringing, getting the first clients, but revolutionized the world: She was the very FIRST PERSON to truly drive a car - and not by meters but by HUNDREDS of KILOMETERS; She started the world auto industry (August 5, 1888 is the official birth for this feat); Created Product Engineering, there is no car factory without it. His critical observations and emergency modifications throughout the journey, later passed on to Carl, made for a better product. And saved the man she loved. Julio Cesar Gaudioso

Bertha had money. She was not an inventor or innovator. Women are empowered by men. Men create the inventions and opportunities - women move into them. We see it everywhere and in every industry,

In contrast to the common myth about her epic ride it was not "Motorwagen Nr. 1" that she took for it. Nr.1 was a prototype that Benz was not too convinced of. He took it apart very soon but kept some relics. Those have been on display on the "Deutsches Museum" in Munich for over 100 years now, being completed to a half-restored, half-replica "Motorwagen Nr.1". It was his third car, "Motorwagen Nr. 3" that he finally wanted to built in numbers. But nobody wanted it. Then, this special night, Bertha woke up her two sons and gave the flywheel a swirl. Nr.3 was a threewheeler like the two prototypes before, but it was back to cheaper and more solid wooden wheels (artillery wheels). Maybe that the two large rear wheels of Nr. 1 ( probably intended for penny-farthing bicycles) had been too flimsy for the bad dirttrack roads of their age.

So it was her money, effort, promotion, all while she had and raised kids. he invented it taking her opinion on details and finished product. I wonder how many inventors out there were selfish and never credited their wives with hard work. Good on Karl for being a real man and giving credit where the credit is due.

The most famouus man who never credited his woman fotr his woirk, was Einstein, who plagiarized his way to great fame and fortune, while betraying, humiliating and abusing is wife. To top it all of, he abandoned his first wife and retardet daughter. THAT sort of deuchebag is held up these days as a paragon of virtue.

What's left is for them to say that the idea for the car was hers, but Carl stole it from her😄. What he did was bold, and logistically a disaster, but it worked.
