I tell you what i have beaten the holy dog crap outta that same bessey vice and shes still just like when i took it outta the box. Minus the dings and whatnot.. first one i got had a hairline crack in the main body but after notifying bessey of it they sent me another no problem. And this one has been running strong and well used. For a few years now, and yes it gets used as a press, anvil, break and vice as well.. ive put the squeeze on it with a 3’ pipe and didnt even bend the bar.. good damn vice for a good damn price.. and im not affiliated with them or gotten any incentive to comment on their shit either,. If i did then they wouldnt pay me if i said shit. Or fuck and all that.. so yea, from the truth of a metal worker and mechanic.. buy ye a bessey..

Where can I get a replacement plastic clip that keeps the moving jaw from falling off for the end of the bar for my Uniklamp? I wrote you all a note on the contact us for Bessey North America but have received no reply.

I heard that the Bessey vises sold at Home Depot aren’t very reliable. Meaning because they’re made of cast metal they’re brittle?

Theyre actually cast steel and not cast iron so they wont crack or break like other cheap vices do.. cast steel still drills like cast iron with bigger chips but is way more ductile than iron.. so if you hit it with a good chipping hammer youll leave a dent rather than a stress fracture like iron and can heat it up without the expansion and contraction cracking it..
