No clue guys but my dealership covers mods like suspension/ exhaust by warranty. Sales guy and finance manager confirmed it. 100k warranty 2.0t exl and I’m ready my first serious car. Thank you for videos, very helpful and saves so much time !!!

Great video man, very informative. I have an Accord 2.0 touring and I can’t wait to unlock its potential. But until it’s paid off or close to it. I’ll just stick with a basic K&N filter and Spare tire delete for now. Definitely gonna cop that stage 3 phearable tune though.

Thank you for the videos on the 10th gen accords, I got my '20 2.0T last month used and I'm planning to mod it once the warranty is over. I'll start with the ktuner first, but do you recommend an upgraded brake kit/performance tires like michelins early on?

Would some of these work on the 1.5t? I know yours is a 2.0t and their pieces are a little different but I want to see if you would know some, btw my accords role model is your accord, love the car and the build

They would, technically. However, if you have a CVT I would be concerned about the transmissions longevity with any significant additional torque. I also wouldn't push too much additional boost in fear of blowing a head gasket.

Hey man i love your videos! Quick question, if i want to get the phearable stage 3 tune is it recommended to upgrade other components such as the intercooler, down pipe or get the flex fuel kit? My goal for my 2.0t is to increase the hp a little to have some more fun but not do too much to the point where it’ll jeopardize the reliability.So far all I’ve done to mine is get a mishimoto intake.

Just tune it a 1.5 engine & trans won't hold up to the torque a 2.0 can, remember the 2.0t has a different trans and engine crank.

3:12 Phearable requires premium fuel just fyi. I'm starting to run premium on a more consistent basis due to concerns I've seen and read about the 1.5L Turbo and blown head gaskets and oil dilution. But I'm totally good with Stage 2. .

Any tune. No matter what engine or tune, run the highest octane available

@@nicholasfolse FYI, KTuner Stage 2 does not at all require premium. Now for track day, or to help with any concerns on oil dilution or head gaskets, yes running premium is legit. But KTuner Stage 2 does not at all require premium. Hope that helps.

You should be running premium fuel with the KTUNER stage 2 tune. Also, whether you’re running 87-94 octane, it has no impact on fuel dilution.

Would you need an intercooler for stage 1 or stage 2? My car currently has just the mishimoto CAI and a cat back DC Sport Exhaust

You don't need an intercooler, but it is highly recommended, especially if you're in an area that experiences hot weather, and/or plan on doing repeated WOT pulls.

I have nothing against Hondata, and have used it in the past. It really comes down to the cost involved in conducting the testing, especially now that I’m on an upgraded turbo 🤷‍♂️

These stages of modification are for the 2.0L turbo engine found on the 10th Gen Honda Accord. The 2024 Accord is the 11th Gen and is not offered with the 2.0L turbo. I would not recommend modifying the 1.5L turbo engine due to the weak CVT and seemingly higher rate of head gasket failure.

Question. I’ve been in communication with d rob and he said the bigger aftermarket turbos are a waste unless you upgrade the fuel system. Per his advice i went with the type r turbo. What’s your thoughts. Have you compared your set up against just the type r turbo upgrade? And is there any difference?

Absolutely! At some point, it doesn’t matter how much additional air you shove into the cylinders, without the accompanying fuel, you’re not going to make more power 🤷‍♂️. Unfortunately, there isn’t much in the way of options to feed the additional fuel 🫤. With that said, the bigger turbos are going to take longer to spool and push your power curve to the right. The smaller (ish) upgrades such as the Type R, 27WON FK8 hybrid, and probably the MHI Stage 2 turbos will still have different peak power potential, and spool characteristics, even before hitting the fuel limit. Hope this helps 👍

It does. Thank you buddy. I’m getting ready to order the flex fuel now and i think that’s where i’m gonna call it on the motor, besides the custom tune of course. Then i’m going brakes, and then cosmetic. I’m actually a honda master tech so i do all my own work. Installed my flex fuel and am running stage 2. Great gains but will eventually get phearable’s tune! Although, I’ve been experiencing a noise from the engine bay since installing the kit. Everything works fine no issues, but it comes and goes. Sounds like something tapping really fast and almost like a cricket lol. I haven’t been able to find the source from the times I hear it. If anyone else has experienced this please let me know.

It may be coming from the ethanol kit itself as I have what may be a similar experience 🤔🤷‍♂️

@@TheLemonFactor Well, the first time I heard it was after back to back pulls when I installed it. Temps were good, and felt fine. It just went away on its own. Happened again yesterday but was driving normal and isn’t making the noise currently.

@@TheLemonFactor I figured it may be from the ethanol kit. It’s just difficult to tell. I have a video but the best way to describe is it sounds as if something is loose. It blends in with how the car sounds while idling just slightly more high pitched.

It may not be it, but I did notice a buzzing sound that happened right after installing the flex fuel sensor 🤷‍♂️

Does anyone know of someone that has actually swapped their turbo for the new FL5 turbo? I've seen that turbo from honda parts supplier for 900ish... obviously need a lot more than just that to make it work but its not a bad price.

Trade for the 2.0 or upgrade my 1.5... i dont need 500hp to get to work or to have fun randomly drag racing someone to work on a sunday ... maybe over 300😅 ... is it worth it without the headgasket blowung off ?

Ohhh, that’s a difficult decision 🤔. I would be very cautious in modifying a 1.5L Accord. If I did, I’d probably keep it to a KTuner with custom tune. Upgrading to the 2.0L would provide you with a more robust platform to mod from, but may have a substantial cost penalty associated with the sale of the 1.5 and purchase of the 2.0 🤷‍♂️

They certainly can 🫤. It’ll depend on your dealership how strict they would be in enforcing it. With that said, usually there’s a denial of warranty coverage based on a reasonable belief that the modification is the cause of the issue you’re trying to get remedied under warranty 🤷‍♂️🤔

If you’re tuning you need to use premium fuel only! 87 octane won’t cut it.

I have not experienced any hood flutter 🤷‍♂️. However, there should be adjustment bolts to move it up and down and right and left 👍

@@TheLemonFactor thank you for the tip I adjusted those rubbers mounts but nothing ! I have 2 10gen accords - one ‘18 2.0t sport and a ‘21 1.5t SE . The ‘21 hood is perfect but the ‘18 2.0t vibrates at idle and while driving the car - that’s why I asked ! But thank you

If you have the CVT then I personally wouldn't recommend it. If you have the manual, then possibly, but I'd still be careful of possibly lifting the head.
