Paul Verhoven also paid Homage to his German brethren when he made Starship Troopers and the main capital was Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where many German people fled and built that country up.

None of the humor, action or fun of the original and instead it tries to be all serious and preachy.. And they don't even go to Mars.. Which was the whole plot of the original.

Does anyone else see how ridiculous part of this scene is? When the rats were fighting over the chocolate with the bug in it it would have moved at most a few inches but the tracking unit indicated it had moved over ten feet. Moreover when Richter grabbed the tracking unit it indicated the bug was inside the rat. There is no way the rat could have eaten it even if it wanted to; it was too hard to chew.

This version of Quaid talking to another version of Quaid through the computer thing reminds me of a narrative in a videogame, where some strange NPC shows and and tells you just enough to get you to the next destination.
