RoboCop, Total Recall and Starship Troopers really could exist in the same universe, their visual styles are that consistent.
@florinivan69072 жыл бұрын
They are directed by the same guy Verhoeven. Also all 3 movies have similar ideas.
@yorganyog3 ай бұрын
The photography is very consistent too. That helps. This require câmera and light work. Actually, the lights were ao strong they had to film this very quickly or the foam head would melt. Her head was in mechatronic plataform and the head was foam sculped.
@DeepEye19945 күн бұрын
I submit to the idea they all take place in the same universe, but in different historical period, like several decades/generations between each film. Total Recall is like the perfect link between RoboCop and Starship Troopers, it still has relatively grounded and bloody action like RoboCop, but it's inserting the cosmic scope and military SciFi elements that ST would flash out.
This scene I've always remembered since the movie came out. It scared me as a kid but what a great actress

This movie is so bonkers over the top, lol. I fucking love it. My brother actually has a childhood trauma from this movie, and this scene in particular, because he watched it when he was way too young for the movie. He saw it when he was six years old and all the violence and freaky special effects scarred him for life. He still can't watch it without feeling uncomfortable, even to this day and he's 34 now.

That would be Mr. Rob Bottin. It was supposed to just be a mask, but he went up to Director , Paul Verhoven and proposed that the head should have the ear come out and then open up like blinds, and then have it be a bomb. This was all the special effects designers idea and Verhoven loved it and gave him the go ahead. He also came up with the scene where he pushed that thing in his nose and pulled out the tracking device. In the screenplay, it was supposed to be the size of a bullet, which could easily pass through his nasal passages. Again Bottin told the director that it would be much better if he had to pull a huge ball out of his nostril. Bottin was given the go ahead again and came up with an anmatronic head that could do the job. on set there were tons of people around watching the effect being shot so you couldn't get too close. Two kids snuck in and were caught hanging around . When asked what they were doing, they said that they just wanted the chance to meet Arnold , after they finish shooting. The crew had to break it to them that Arnold wasn't even on set and that they had been looking at a realistic animatronic head going through these motions the whole time.
