Those are the lands where my maternal grandparents were born and which are part of my sweet childhood. One of the memories I cherish most is that when on summer vacation I went down with my cousins to the Douro River, looking for a place to dive. We played for hours until our fingers wrinkled with so much water. Only uncle Afonso´s voice stopped us and made us come back home. Nowadays, luckily there are many stunning swimming pools available to tourists, but the absolute beauty and tranquility of the Douro remain unchanged through the centuries. And so it will be for many more.

You should visit Douro 41, it's an amazing hotel in Castelo de Paiva and the rooms have the most amazing view. It's probably one of the best Douro's hotels but much more affordable than Six Senses. I loved it when I stayed there for my birthday in July. Highly recommend!

Hello!I love your videos. And I very much identify with your level of taste and experiences. Just discovered L’and Vineyards in one of your vlogs, and I’m going to check that out in a few weeks. And, because I believe in sharing, here is my tip for you guys to enjoy as well: Vidago Palace Hotel, at Vidago, north of Portugal, next to Chaves, and Casa Modesta, at Olhão, near Faro. Lovely places. I highly recommend. ;)

I cannot say if this was available in Portugal since 2005, but it was for sure since 10 years ago on some clinics and it was available for regular families since then too.

@@Jesuscger It was not since ipads did not exist (and nothing similar either) in 2005. He probably refers to remote controlled homes, which exists everywhere since the 70's. Maybe it was much more common in Japan than in the West though.

Not the best Hotel in Portugal (like Yetman, The vine, Areias do Seixo, Quinta da Comporta, Fortaleza do Guincho, Vila Joya, Tivoli Palacio dos seteais and Palacio Belmonte just to name a few) but still looks nice, I mean I get its all up to your likes and dislkes, location, design and other features (theres a few hotels that I love who didnt mention just I understand they can never be up at top 10 best hotels, but that doesnt mean they arent great)..I and I do envy you guys.. keep it up posting those beautiful pearls.

@Yeah Nah Bem para terminar esta idiotice tenho a dizer-te que sou do Norte, nascido e criado e sei que no Norte há quem ainda tenha educação excepção feita á tua estirpe de regionalistas e barristas que não enxergam mais que o castanho na ponta do nariz. Mas se achas tu que o Norte e o resto do pais não precisa do turismo então rapazito manda-os para o sul (já há lá poucos nortenhos ..) e dedica-te á agricultura a e fechar fabricas , seja como for será sempre bem superior a operários do teclado ergunumeros com sindrome de défice mamário como tu. Por isso cuida dessa tua patologia, recomendo uma zaragatoa de pepino seguido de tamponamento sempre poupas na terapêutica.
