Gear Review | It's been several years since I have needed adventure pants, as my Rocky Mountain ATVMC Battleborn pants have served me well over 35K miles of use. That time has come, however, and I am counting on these pants to last just as long and work just as well! - Frank

I recently bought both the pants and jacket. I’m 6’1 and I flux between 185-200lbs depending how much pizza and tacos I’m eating. I have a more athletic build with a wide back. I wear a 32 or 34 in pants depending on the brand. That being said I order a large jacket and 34 pant. The pants were way too tight. And the large jacket fit me very well in the front of my body but when I put my arms in “riding position” the back of the jacket was tight across my back and shoulders. I reluctantly exchanged everything for an XL jacket and I went up to a 38in pant. I have both the XL jacket and 38in pant tighten all the way in the with the adjusters. The XL jacket is too big for me but that’s okay because I’m layering a hoodie and base layer under it. I recommend everyone size up from what you normally wear. The adjusters are set wide open at the claimed pant size. So you can’t expand a 32 into a 34. But if you order a 34 you can take in the adjusters and make it fit like a 32.

Hello Rob, I have been wearing them for a few rides now. No rain though as when it rains it's really cold! Unfortunately I am sure I will know how waterproof they are soon... - Frank

Hello Matt, It just began warming here, so I have maybe ten hours in them, but I have been in rain twice, so far so good. The previous version worked quite well, so I am expecting the same. They do seem to be a bit heavier material. Which is probably good if I ever need them to protect me In a slide. I regret not mentioning that in the first impressions - Frank .

Going by your first gen pants how are these when it gets warm and humid? Do they vent enough?

Hello Steven, they seem to vent the same as my ARC, their first ones. I would prefer better venting. That said, I am OK with them. - Frank

@@OneOldManRiding Great thanks . I'm thinking of replacing my AD1 pants (AeroStich) even though they work fine ,they restrict my movement on the bike.

Great review. One issue I have found with bike clothing manufacturing is lack of sizes for the people who dont weigh 180lbs. And the inconsistent way sizing is done. One company sells a 4xl and its a 40 inch waist. For who? In what area of the world is 4xl is 40 inch waist? Before I began ADV riding in a serious way I used to see guys near my home who were riding the national forest here. They all had plumbers crack. The only thing holding up their pants was their penis. And then they had a huge wad of pants right above their feet. Well now I know its because of the lack of available clothing for people who are over 180 lbs. Or for people who dont wear their pants under their belly. Im a bigger guy. Not so much fat as bone structure. I have yet to find pants that fit in the way that I want. Old school military man I want my pants two to three fingers width below the belly button and I dont want a foot of pants bunched up on my boots. I can wear pants made by MSR...as long as its summer. Because even with the thinnest under layer and they wont fit me. And I do most of my riding when its in the cooler mos

Hello Dave, I have seen a number of videos mentioning sizing the "Full American." Dork in the Road has done more than one. ON the subject of consistent sizing... I own two jackets by Klim, both the same size. They fit very differently. And when I went last summer into a Cycle Gear, and tried on the same size jacket, in a different model, still Klim, I was unable to zip it up. One Klim jacket I can wear a fleece and a heated vest under it, and another I cannot zip it. Thats an insane difference in one brand alone. I have short legs, 30' inseam at best, when I buy slacks and jeans my waist size (32) has legs starting at 32 and going to 38... yet the 36-38 waist pants have leg lengths starting at 29" So my pants are long, and a fellow bigger than me in high waters! What gear, jacket and pants are you wearing Dave? - Frank
