As far as I'm aware (quite new aswell) it's not necessarily upgrading its to change the fps of your gun say your playing in an outdoor field and your fps is fairly lower than the limit you can change the spring to get closer to the limit and you can change the spring to go to a lower fps is you play at an indoor field

Im looking for a new M4 but I spent too much money on upgrading my old one, would I be able to take the upgrades out the old one and put them in the new one? (The old one is an M4 aswell)

As long as they use a version 2 gearbox. Check the model and see if the gearbox is proprietary in any way. For example, krytac has proprietary spur gears

not sure what gearbox it uses, i think these are desgined for m4 / v2 gearboxes
