This is quite possibly the easiest game boy advance backlight mod currently out there. It is super easy to install and requires no trimming of the shell and only one solder point. AND It's full screen with brightness, black and white, and pixel grid functionalities. Hi loved your video!! I have a question. What is the label where you make the solder point to on the motherboard? i know you say the bottom right but which point exactly?

Thanks! The label is F1. It is right above and slightly to the left of the power switch. The wire should be soldered to the right solder joint. Hope this helps!

This is the only kit where it needs a separate wire to be soldered to the MoBo no ?, non of the other kits needs a wire separate from the ribbon cable to be soldered to the MoBo in order for the screen and backlight to work.

Hi, nice video. But I’m really nervous about trying this on my own. I’m only 14 and I’ve never done anything like this before. Do you know if I could take my gba and the kit into a repair shop and they could install it for me?

Hey man so I want to backlight my gba, and my options are buy a new upgraded one for like 250$ or mod it myself like 80$ or less, but I don’t know how to solder so I’m like well what if I ruin it … how easy is this to mess up? Should I just buy a pre modded one?

I wouldn’t solder on a gameboy without any practice, so you might be better off biting the bullet on one already pre-assembled. We will be offering a fully customizable make to order option soon where you can pick what shell/button/membrane colors you want and what mods you want and we will build it for you

I was gonna practice soldering some easier stuff and try to mod my ds and possibly GBA since my GBA needs to be restored to its former glory (original white but lost its colour). Are you doing custom MODs now? Cause I'd love the GBA accelerator installed along with the light screen

Buy a HighSpeedido V5 3.0, you don't have to solder anything but you have the option to if you want, it goes right into the original GBA shell
