I learned many years ago bowhunting to keep things as simple and controllable as possible. I've learned that releases that can clipped on the d-loop and just hang there are very efficient. The Carter Wise Choice is an excellent option. If you're doing spot/stalk a quality trigger style on a wrist strap works very well. For me the use of a true hinge/back tension style is reserved for the 3-d or target range because those are controlled situations versus a fast developing hunting shot. Naturally that depends on where/how you are set up. Like in a blind out of the wind etc and the target is more or less standing there like a 3-d target. It's all about controlling the shot sequence IMO. Good Luck folks!

Currently running a Carter wise choice 3 finger and love it. Been thinking about picking up a hinge or tension to better my mechanics though.

I’m a beginner bow hunter and have only shot 10 arrows my whole life and that was only to sight in. What do you recommend I learn on and hunt with? Primarily tree saddle.

I shoot a Stan Perfex Longneck XL. The sizes run small, so an XL was a good fit for my size Large hand.

Check out the Company B3 archery they have some great releases I bought my first hinge from them an it changed my whole shot execution in a good way. Plus my groups have shrunk especially at distance.

Any sub $30 USD releases? Some of us are on a tight fixed income and don't have hundreds to spend a release ... or arrows ... quiver ... sight ...bow case ....
