Even as Poe and Diablo fan , Last Epoch for me got best itemization and this new system will just push it to the top.

Been holding off on this game for so long as I wanted my first touch to be with the final product. Looks like the perfect balance between D4 and PoE!

I like the idea of having a physical trading area....at least for a while till it gets annoying at some point, or forever if it turns out amazing. :)

While the point that you made that the non-trade faction 'focus lenses' would be great in a base game with trading, I played enough of PoE to know it would kill the entire fun and point of the system. For example, people will figure out which equipment slot is worth the most (example a belt ;D) and then the average player is 'forced' to only ever focus on dropping more belts because it's more beneficial to drop the expensive item, and sell it for 2 pieces of your gear, than actually aiming for what you want. PoE example of this is how skill gems work. Pretty much every build in the game can level 6 gems in your secondary 'weapon swap' weapons. Now, if you level them up to level 20 and corrupt them, some may become level 21, which is what you want on almost every build. Because of this, you are inclined to instead of leveling the skill(s) that you use, you chose the most expensive level 21 gem on the market and sell it as for its price you can buy 10 of the gems for your build. In my personal opinion these kinds of 'playing for currency' and 'forced trading' mentality and knowing that I'm not the most optimal if I don't do these things sucks ass.

I’ve never been a huge fan of trading since it often feels like I’m compelled to spend too much time doing it (or that I’m heavily missing out if I don’t trade). That said, being forced to play SSF never felt like a great solution since it usually prevents you from playing with friends, and it’s always nice to have that option without needing to make a new character. So, my excitement has only grown since they first announced this system, and the details of how it’ll work sound great. 11/10 solution in my book.

Their system basically prevents arbitrage. Pretty brilliant, IMO.

I really like the idea of the bazaar being a physical place and also I would love to see one of the later reputation rewards for traders being the hotkey as an item they have to have in their inventory to access it. I love the idea of one time trade so that someone doesn't control the market by buying and selling things for higher. The full set drop in the title of the unlock says "chance" so I wonder if it will be a chance for it to drop either just a piece or the full set. I really like the idea of the resonance system

I just started play the early access and holy crap, it's really good. Way better than diablo 4. And It has pretty deep build customization too. Not as deep as POE, but still very very good

Instead of dropping the füll Set,they should drop 1 piece of it and then Ur Dropchance for the other parts increases significantly. Every piece increases the Droprate more

This is already the best ARPG before PoE2.. worth the money and the support! It is just amazing and will become even better with the time, and the trading system is just the proof that I needed

Well, i personally love the concept so far. The Idea with two Factions not only fix some issue the Genre face, where either one of them is pleased or they try to compromise and not one is fully pleased -> this however is the perfect solution for that; it also can promote and encourage different player-experiences - like making one or a few character fully selffound and play with the circle features, and than you have characters where you focus on player economy and such. However as you point out, there might be still some stuff which might need to be adressed in the long run, like you pointed out maybe some aspects of trading are "too" limited and could be tinkered around to hit the sweet spots. But generally speaking i love the idea. Great Video!

The trade faction is still more powerful than non-trade, but it should be. I'm just glad they're doing something to make SSF even a little more balanced. I wish POE could do something similar, because ssf in POE is truly a hardmode where most trade builds aren't realistically possible.

The systems sound great, and I understand your comment about that it's almost too good to be exclusive to one team or the other, but it also gives me hope that the devs can implement other systems in seasons that are just as impressive

For the merchants guild they could add a drop that summons a npc to access the bizarr on the go. Or make it part of the level 9 or 10 rewards to be able to access it from anywhere.

I am loving this idea, and I was already enthousiastic about Last Epoch after having played the early access about a year ago. This game might just be 2024's sleeper hit.

Alternative option for the set idea: When you have a set item equipped or in your inventory, you get a significant increase in the drop chance for other parts of that set per item of the set you already have. Or when one set item drops, you have a chance based on magic find or whatever for each other item to drop and it rolls each piece individually. Sometimes you get just one, other times you might get the loot pinata and get the entire set.

Bought Last Epoch 2 years back, played through the current campaign then ONCE hit level 55 and stopped, very much looking forward to this great ARPG. That one time trade sounds good and if auction house (place and go) style, works for me, used to that from MMOs.

I think this is a very clever approach to (hopefully) satisfy both groups, especially in trying to keep the trading folks from having to use a third party site. One of my main gripes with Last Epoch is barely being able to find uniques (or are they called legendaries?) for the class I'm currently playing - if the Circle of Fortune helps mitigate that effect it will definitely make the drops more exciting. That's what I'm always hoping for in an aRPG - exciting drops (something that _barely_ happens in DIV). =^-^=

Every modern ARPG should have something like. Obviously it might need to be balance tuned post-launch and stuff but the concept itself is great. It's actually trying to solve the trading problem that's been debated for decades instead of just finding some middle ground compromise

Sets don't really fill up all your slots in LE, so i don't really get the issue with the 9th lvl and on top of that you cannot trade. So it's just a great boost for those that don't enjoy trading.

Items can be traded once only or, at least, that is how they responded to the question about 3rd party trades problem.

The item faction system seems amazing! Best part is I'm having a real tough time deciding which faction I want to play! I may have to try out both.

As far as set drops, it would be great if your odds of finding another piece of that set go up significantly with each piece you find until finding the entire set becomes just a matter of "reasonable" time.

I think I’ll still end up buying most stuff from the bazaar (if it is as easy UX as the D3 auction house) but I don’t mind. Great UX, lets me focus on killing mobs and trying builds 👍

I always thought once you find a set piece and own it the % chance jumps up to find the others. 5% chanve to find 1st piece, second 45%, 3rd 80%

I love PoE's build systems and speed and classes and skills but What I hate about it is the trading and the crafting is too complicated for me to become SSF I might never get the items that enable my build. I think this Circle of Fortune is a great balance between both things.

i can see a problem arising with the only trade once you trade on a 3rd party a voucher , so those who specucalte on item car create bundle of gear that is virtualy the same as a completed one for exemple , or just trade ghost item that would depend on the "vibe" of the economy but never count out the people who want number to go up

Been playing Last Epoch since beta, can't wait for this game to launch. POE Devs have already said they are going to implement a trading auction house and system similar to Last Epoch

had me going until "cannot be traded again". I like the style of two guilds, for trade and ssf in the same world. but being stuck with items I used once makes incremental upgrading a disadvantage versus waiting for a bigger upgrade. As a build creation lover, I don't want to be punished for tinkering.

some cool ideas, but honestly, the trading faction doesn't sound like it'd be interesting for those who really like trading in ARPGs (D2/PoE). If items can only be traded once, I think that might be a dealbeaker for some people. The economies in games are some of my favorite parts, but with these restrictions, I think I'd rather just play self-found based on what I've just heard

Last Epoch is about to be the best ARPG out there! Love a company that isn't afraid to take risks and try out new things in a genre that's been around for ages.

My first impression when I heard about this system before was that it sounded great. Now it sounds overcomplicated and its losing itself. I initially thought the Circle of Fortune was going to be full SSF, though adding the friend loot option does make sense in a way. I really appreciate that they're trying to mix things up in the genre, and I look forward to seeing how it works out after all the testing and balancing it will inevitably get. Pretty sure Blizzard will be watching and waiting too so they can implement the same thing in D4 immediately after someone else finds out what works first.

Seems like a great system. Last Epoch was just gifted to me by a friend for christmans and I havent actually played it yet. I think it makes sense for the bazaar to be a physical place in town though, and might be disappointed if it turns into a hotkey.

The trade faction limitation also makes bot farms harder to do since they need to invest more heavily to even trade. Plus it also mitigates the demand if you think about it since when is the prime time for people to be willing to do IRL trading for items? That's right, early game so they can more easily get to late game.

That is the better way of doing it. So you get the choice

i mean the tier req on items to use wil only be a problem for a 1e char in the season anyways after that ur new alt wil instantly be max level aswel anyways so np

I like this idea, Hope they can fix the Constant stutter and rubberbanding in epoch though, thats what pushes me away every time. As soon as you get past the campagn and do higher Rifts you start to rubberband on multiple classes, Seems worse on Wizard teleport

My reason to Invest into LE's early Access was that U can See that they are actually trying to innovate the arpg space and the dev's are big arpg Fans and very active in the global Chat etc. The opposite of Blizzard so to speak

i think LE has a great comprimise on the trade system, personally i dont like to trade but many of my friends do and seem to like this idea

This game is boldly improving on so many ARPG aspects its unbelieveable. Let's be honest, the trading itself is incredible system and you have one whole additional system as addition. For the sets it can be made very easily, just with level unlock add one telescope or something where you will specify the set you want to prioritize and bam, you're good to go. Really looking forward to this game.

honestly it sounds amazing! I think I'll try both, and for the first time self found sounds super fun, Ive tried before but it feels so mindlessly grindy, and for example in poe some items are build defining. regarding the trade people that might get triggered by this, I have the feeling they are mostly flippers, which make the economy bad for the rest anyway. I can also see the point being made about "I buy this temporarily and after I get a better object I'll sell it" but I don't think is a big loss considering you remove buy-sell-profit people from the equation. They can just go back to PoE if that is what makes them happy, I don't think GGG see them as a bad thing after all.

This sounds great! If this works out u can have alot of fun no matter how u play wich is really good. I think this is better then nothing and people will always complain but thats to be expected couse u can't please everyone. I only hope other games can learn from it if it works well wich i think it will.

Could you play through the non trade through campaign then switch to trade during endgame. Save items you get from nontraditional then when you begin trade faction you sell all that you've collected?

Seems like a fantastic system overall - I love how they are thinking a bit differently. Combined with the superb crafting, LE could be a huge hit.

ok so when i play fortune and buddy plays merchant, we play together and i drop an item, is it always fortune-locked? or will i have also drops that are not dropped "due to being in circle of fortune"? because when buddy as a merchant drops an item, it will not have a faction requirement and we both can equip it.

On your idea about how to fix Rank 9 Circle of Fortune, and the "complete set drop" problem. What if the Prophecy for sets is instead extended? An Epic Prophecy if you will. You roll this theoretical 5th telescope until the set you want is the reward. All you can see is the first step of the Prophecy, and that the reward at the end is the set you want. Upon completing the first part of this Prophecy, it reveals the next step in the journey, which is a new Event trigger, and Condition. Each step on this Prophecy requires you pay in more Favor until the final one completes the set. You cannot get the set without completing the entire Prophecy. Additionally, if you don't like some later stage, you have to weigh the sunk cost of what you've already paid in versus the difficulty of what was revealed in a later stage and your chances of success. Conceptually, each piece of the set requires one Prophecy to complete, but the set doesn't complete without doing the entire Epic Prophecy chain. This way, the risk/reward scales with the type of set, as opposed to a 5-quest Prophecy for a 2-piece set, and same for a 5-piece set coming out of 3 quests.

I think this system is brilliant. Certainly my favorite out of any ARPG i have played or know of.

Sounds awesome! But why all the focus on "missing out on sets"? Sounds to me you will be "missing out" on a major benefit either way and gain another.

What about ... you can get both reps. can equip both item categories accordingly. Drop both item categories with respective chances.

The set drop reward isn't nearly as big as it sounds. To my knowledge, none of the sets in Last Epoch are best in slot for any builds. Not only that, they can't drop with legendary potential and they don't have exalted versions, so set items will never have the potential of a good unique or exalted item. There are certainly a couple exceptions but I genuinely can't recall ever seeing a build that uses sets as anything more than a temporary placeholder.

There needs to be a time sink to avoid spamming, just a straight up auction house on a hot key is a bad idea.

Well having you do stuff to sell, will make it so when the RMT guys a bit more of a headache to get new accounts etc.

If your faction rank is account wide low level characters will still be able to equip all things. It's likely to limit real gold purchases

Absolutely love this concept- forced trading via balance is what makes POE SSF so painful and inferior, and I find trading such a dirty feeling when you can just buy build defining uniques. I'm very much looking forward to Last Epoch's launch ❤

I'm happy there is a good option for SSF. I don't like bothering with that trading crap.

I honestly don't mind the restrictions to trade because in my opinion, trading can trivialize the game a bit too much. I like the idea of there being a lot of competition for items that can only be sold once and it probably makes playing less popular classes much less expensive and easier to power up with.

Imagine in D2 the entire Immortal King set drops 🤯
