Man axl was really feeling it that 2nd weekend at Coachella. I was very lucky to be there and hands down the best live vocals I've ever heard. He hit some high notes that i've never heard live before or since.

After 30 years of drinking, smoking and doing drugs, you have got to give some respect for Axl. Even though he is nowhere near as good as he was in the 80s, he still manage to keep up with his high vocals. In his prime years he was the best singer of all time. No one in the world can compare to the anger and pain he puts in to his voice. Not even Freddie Mercury would have managed to sing Paradise City or Welcome to the jungle with the amount of power as Axl.

Yeah Freddie was one of the best rockers out there but what the commenter is trying to say is that Axl is way different from other singers. He's doing what few other people managed to do. In terms of charisma, Axl is capable of doing things that even Freddie couldn't do. Ofc Freddie is godly but you gotta admit that he wasn't the best in terms of everything and there are places where Axl outshines him

I think it's not really at his top, especially when going for non distorted high notes, but I have to say that with the life he's had, and his age, he managed his voice really well. He definitely learned to take care of it sometime along his career.

Zarti X I could concede that he was a rock star though. He and Oasis have a large following and he behaves like a rockstar sometimes he’s just had a relatively short shelf life as far as his music being popular goes. Axl is undoubtably more of a rockstar than Liam for sure though

Axl's voice actually never changed, he just got more fatigued with age, which made it way harder for him to use his voice the way he did 87 - 93. He is still an incredibly talented vocalist.

He actually sounds the same as he used to, when singing low-mid range notes. He sings high notes in falsetto, that's why it doesn't really sound like him. 5:10 is a good example of this.

A la verdad que Ax'l siempre nos ha demostrado que tiene la capacidad de modelar su voz como ha querido...y la lleva fuerte cuando quiere...ha de ser difícil estar en constantes giras sin darle descanso a su voz...y es que estamos acostumbrados a verle en ese movimiento...En su época destacó por tener el record en presentaciones de giras de conciertos y para nuestros tiempos sigue degustando y destacando por presentar una gira bastante extensa...Esta cuarentena le ha dado espacio para poder descanzar, sin embrago se preparan con lo mejor.

Yes Axl has lost a lot of his voice and it does show in some love concerts but there is hope at 5:09, if Axl can keep trying to use that voice then we will have our old Axl back !

Considering some of these concerts are 20-30 years on, his voice sounds amazing. He's not often far from the mark even now. The pitch, the distortion and the energy are all there. Like most singers, he does like to improvise so be aware it won't always sound the same

Sitting in the throne helped a lot I think. And the fire he had for the first leg of the reunion tour. And singing for AC DC helped also, cause he prepared his voice for this and he did the same for the reunion and took lessons again. At least I remember reports about that.
