The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud kzfaq.infoUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

That's an older model Vitamix. You can tell because of the knobs and the very tall carafe. The new carafe's are much shorter and wider and WILL fit under the upper cabinets! Mine is the older model with the tall carafe and it's a pain to store.

A-Do-Gooder. I'm leaning towards the Cuisinart, as immersion blenders are really useful, and so much easier to clean! That being said, I already have a Cuisinart immersion blender, and the fact that it is refurbished makes it a little bit harder to buy. The Vitamix is also an outstanding deal! They usually go for so much more money. That being said, as good as the deal is, I don't think I'd be able to spend that much on a blender.

Slickdeals Username: im2bz2p - I think the best deal for for the average home owner is Ninja Professional Plus BN701 Blender, but if the individual is a power-user or really needs the additional power/features, the Vitamix is difficult to beat as it's in a different class of blenders.
