I found maple butter pancake sooo good so clever as well how the syrup is thick enough not sogging up the pancake. It was my favourite breakfast for a while when I visited Japan at the beginning of last year.

Convenience store egg sandwich in Japan is my everyday breakfast when I travel there, I miss it so much!

what I love about Japan is that they cater to single people. Here in Finland, everything is family sized (a family of 4) or couple sized. I always end up overeating or throwing food away. I would love to buy food for just 1 person :D Give Satoshi some get well hugs, but make sure you don't get sick as well :D

So many yummy things today. I would like to try them all.

It was December when I went so quite cold in the mornings. My go-to combini breakfast was a hot Boss coffee and a pork bun. Those things were so addicting! My friend would get Lemon honey tea and usually some kind of bread from the bakery section.

My favorite breakfast when I visited Japan was going to Yoshinoya and getting a breakfast set. It was quick, filling, delicious and cheap!

All of those foods look delicious! I love Japanese breakfast. It's the best! We have Lawson's here in Waikiki, but it's just not the same as the ones in Japan. I can't wait to go back!

Satoshi I hope you get better soon! About the breakfast items, I wish we had stores with the convenience of those in Japan. Most of our fast food breakfasts are the same stuff, and not at all healthy.

My usual breakfast when I visit Japan is an onigiri, an egg sandwhich, juice and canned coffee. I do go at least once to Jonathan's or Denny's for their breakfast menu. Send Satoshi my good wishes.

When you said the tuna sandwiches was something you liked, I knew it had to be from back in elementary school times. Ours used to be served with some corn chowder. I wonder if they still serve that stuff.

The onigiri sounded great for me. But if there is on thing I have to say about the convenience stores in Oklahoma, the breakfast items have improved greatly in the last ten years. Especially QT. They have a great made while you wait breakfast burrito.

Get well soon, Satoshi. Shinichi, those a variety of choices. Depending on where I am eating my breakfast, I might choose the mackerel just to have Japanese breakfast. The pancakes with butter and maple sauce are a good idea for breakfast sandwich. Fuwa fuwa pancakes look good too. Do you kari kari ume and shiso onigiri in Japan?

Breakfast places are indeed hard to find. And the ones that are there are often opening later then you would like for breakfast. Some cafes will offer moning sets between 9 and 11 am. Best bet to get breakfast on the go is a major train station. I'm not really a breakfast person, just cofffee or in Tokyo I usually make tea (should do that back home as well). Sometimes I get a yomogi daifuku hahaha For the rest of the family I would probably get the danish and the pancakes. And the veggie juice to see if my daughter will drink that.

I hope Satoshi feels better soon! I love tuna and egg sandwiches made with Kewpie and shokupan. It's over 2 hour drive to buy Kewpie and shokupan but I still do that every few months because I can't eat American mayonnaise anymore, Kewpie is so much better. I greatly prefer shokupan, too, just wish I could get it closer to home. So, that would be my favorite. I have purchased onigiri, but the rice is always dried out and doesn't have much flavor. I think fresh would be much better. I bought an onigiri mold at Daiso and think I will try making it. 🙂 BTW, you would not believe the markup at Daiso here. If the item is marked 100 yen, they charge 3 US dollars. 😀

I think I'd go for traditional food if I'm visiting another country, unless I see something that's a crossover, like a matcha yogurt or a yam pastry. Actually, do you have matcha yogurt? We have a coffee yogurt in Italy and it's disgusting.
