@@gundealsso would it replace the Riton entirely, or would it bump the Constantine from the list? I personally don't think the Riton deserved a place on the top5, but I haven't handled the 1-10 so I could be mistaken. I am in the market for a used 1-10 though, as my dad talked me out of my 20" pencil barrel 5.56 in trade for his 16" 308 barrel, so now I have to build a battle rifle/dmr crossover. I Think 1-10 is perfect for that application even though I have a brand new 1-8 that I was gonna use for the 20" 556.

I was about to ask the same thing. I have one mounted on an AR308. It is a good bang for the buck in terms of features. I don't like the weight, SFP, and the reticles.

Would like to see your take on what the best "bang for your buck" tandem or offset red dots and mounts are, in your opinion.

Arisaka mount with a holosun 407 or 507 is a pretty decent setup imo. You can get a closed emitter dot now though. Arisaka mount will work with any red dot on the market if you buy an adapter plate with it and they're extremely robust.

I run a Grovtec 45 degree offset. You can stack that with a romeo 5 or similar for about $150-$200 on the low end.

@@gundeals I would also really appreciate your opinion on this optic. I really like that the way the mil reticle is setup on the GLx. I'm hoping the glass is worth the upgrade.

Vortex Razor 3 is the best all around 1-10 imo. The 1x isn't as awesome as the Razor 2, but it works well enough at speed for me. The part that gets me is everyone whining about a tight eye box at 10x. No shit. Anything with a 10x multiplier is going to have a tight eye box. That said, I've still found 8x to 10x usable in a DMR match. It's all about making sure your rifle is setup properly.

Vector has a continental 1-10 on preorders. Looks interesting. I think I would go 2-10 minimum for any serious longer shots. I like 1-6 for 500yds and in which is plenty long for me. We had engagements in Afghanistan with 300-400 yards with only Irons and that sucked (I wasn't one of the cool guys with cool toys and this was early gwot)

@@gundeals i always love your roundups. I snagged one of those PA Special doorbuster scopes for 199. Wish I had got 2 or 3 more because I got an email today confirming it is their gen 4 GLX (from Philippines) glass and body just without the auto wake or w/e. I have a feeling their going to be bringing to market something to fill the gap between slx nova and plxc and wanted to dump inventory.

Alright, I bought a Romeo 4xt pro after the last time we talked. It arrived today. It is very nice. The build quality on it is excellent. The FDE coating on it is flawless. Damn, this is a nice red dot. Now I gotta get a magnifier for it. Any suggestions? I'm guessing just get one of the Sig ones since its a Sig red dot. Edit: To keep with the topic, I don't have a favorite 1-10. I do however have a favorite 1-8 and that would be the PA 1-8 PLX-C with the griffin mil reticle. that little scope is excellent. 100% worth the money imo.

HM3x is the best budget option, but the PA macro 3x is also a good option.

@@gundeals Is there a way to use a Vector prism as a magnifier? Are there flip-to-side 1/3rd T2 mounts? That would provide holds that a regular magnifier doesn't

⁠Vector Optics has their Paragon Magnifiers but it’s going to be the best option because of their mounting solutions. It uses a flip mount and fits other T2 mounts.

@gundeals It's my favorite Chinese lpvo and in my opinion the Chinese scopes keep getting closer (obviously there is a gap) to Phillipine and Japanese scopes regarding overall optical user experience. Have you reviewed a razor 1-6 as of yet?

If the Vector Continental 1-10 is the best budget 1-10 Budget scope, then the Vector Continental 1-6 LPVO is a freaking bargain for those of us that are quite happy with a SFP and a max power of 6X.

@@gundeals I own a swampfox arrowhead 1x10 and the primary arms 1x10 love the primary arms reticle but just seems like the swamp Fox has a bit better glass and less fish bowl. I enjoy your review as I just bought one of the new arken 1x8 and Im waiting on that to show up. And I'm looking at the vector paragon 4x because of you, debating between the vector 4x or a vortex spitfire 5x

Cheap optics are better than ever. However, when talking about Chinese glass, go shoot in low light and you’ll see the difference made by Japanese, German and even Philippine glass. Cheap glass getting better is good for the industry tho

Would the PA 1-10 edge out the Vector Continental if it were FFP? Obviously the Vector would still remain superior in terms of glass quality, but the PA would crazy high value.
