The most annoying vids I find from channels these days is the ones they keep recycling telling people to basically wait forever before buying. Don't buy yet. In 2 months they recycle the same vid and insert reason to wait.

I laughed about the “whining about high prices”. I complete understand why people don’t like the prices. It’s sad, but PC gaming is truly a privilege, so some complaints are warranted. I just want to game at my monitor’s refresh rate! That’s not too much to ask for.

Good picks. One think I’d mention is that it’s not too difficult to upgrade to 1440p high refresh rate without breaking the bank. The second build is definitely capable of running most games at 1440p, and if you want a bit more juice upgrading to the 7800xt would be a nice midrange option for the same performance level as the 6700xt at 1080p.

Your picks are pretty matching my personal tips, main components for gaming (If not wrong) I have 3y old i3-10100f 10100f, Gigabyte B460M Aorus pro, 2x8GB 2666Mhz RAM and MSI Mech 6650xt, 512GB nvme 3.0 main drive, 265GB secondary (just backup) l, Fortron Hydro 600W PSU, older reused Middle tower. 31,5 nich 1440p but only 75Hz (AOC Q32P2), it has Adaptive sync and refresh does ok for my top game which i doesn't require faster frames. If I would buy nowadays, 12100f would be starting point, that 6700xt another focus of interest and probably faster refresh 1440p, as prices are level what I spent for 75Hz 3y ago. You have made definitely reasonable budget current gaming PC. 👍 Finally Z690 OC capabilities is nice to have once you get K series cpu.

I would class a budget pc as 250-400 pounds or 300-450 dollars. A pc around that price I find very doable and provides still a great gaming experience.

My budget/value combo is the Ryzen 5 5700X + RX 6800 (non-XT) combo. It serves admirably as a HTPC and Loungeroom gaming rig. I really enjoyed playing Hogwarts Legacy on it last night on my LG OLED CX TV at native 4K on High settings with absolutely ZERO upscaling (I hate the look of FSR with a passion) at a stable 60FPS and it was great. I do have 2 higher end PCs to play with - my Main rig which is an i7-13700K + RTX 4080 Super combo, as well as a back-up/spare PC with a Ryzen 5 7500F + RTX 3080 Ti combo - but for what I use my Ryzen 5 5700X + RX 6800 PC for (i.e. to be basically a home-made Xbox Series Z to complement my PS5 for TV gaming with kids) - its absolutely fine. Great, even.

The uk has some pros and some cons. The used market isn't isn't alive however you can find the odd deal here and there. Cex is also great as if you catch the right product at the right price at the right time, you can get a good deal. There are also companies such as IONZ who are UK based and make amazing budget cases that are crazy value. To be honest I think I could make a far better bang for buck pc here in the uk.

I have to disagree on the i3. Not because it's not powerful enough, but because of the resale value. Anyone that sees "i3," automatically thinks it's trash, and not built for a gaming PC. If possible go for an i5 at minimum, if you plan to sell off the part or the entire PC in the future. Also, why'd you say the RX 6700XT doesn't have ray tracing? Yeah, it does. Are you confusing this card with the RX 5700XT, which doesn't have it?

We are definitely in a weird time. I always do my PC builds as "future proof" as I can...Im literally running an AMD Fx-6300 CPU, 32GB DDR PC1600 Ram, Asus M5A97LE R2.0 MB, and a AMD Raedon R9 390 GPU. I literally run my pc ALL DAY EVERYDAY..and it's held up for 10yrs no problem. I mostly use my PC for music production, photoshop/lightroom, 1080P video editing, general day2day tasks and light gaming. Im just now hitting some snags with encoding times processing videos, running multiple plugins in Ableton and most current titles are not playable in gaming. So....decided it's time to upgrade and what do I find?? AM4 is still totally relevant but dead...AM5 is not going to last long because the new Ryzen 10 is going to start hitting the public in Q3 2024 (no word on if its still going to be AM5 or not)....and GPU's are just refreshes with minor updates (6800xt vs 7800xt)...when a RTX 2080Ti is still playable? WTF is going on? I really dont know what to get...AM4 and wait to see if Ryzen 10 is AM5 or new chipset? Which GPU? OC a 6800XT or wait for the new RDNA 5 cards to come out and prices come down? In the 90s technology was advancing at a rapid pace with ACTUAL changes...now it seems like changes are rapid..but NO real advancement in technology.

Keep in mind what you're really paying for these days is not extreme progress from the prior generation but increased efficiency and driver support from the company. That's what 7800 xt is compared to it's predecessor. Less power use and less price. Am5 will be used for at least 4 years and then it will become the new am4 dragging on after that.
@JeremiahHartmanPhotography
@JeremiahHartmanPhotography 5 ай бұрын
@@mexifry222 I agree about the efficiency part..Im hoping AM5 does actually stick around because that's probably what i'm going to go with (R7 7700x) now that MB's and DDR5 prices are coming down.

Don't be fooled by the PC media and in particular Tech Tube propaganda. AM4 and 1700 are not dead platforms on where u enter. AM5 on its third CPU turn will saturate the memory bus? Second half 2023 moving from Intel quads; HW, SK, KL to Comet i5 was the big used seller then upgrade to Comet i7 to i9. Over Christmas Alder desktop was the big channel mover and most of those were new. See, it depends where u enter. On AMD side AM4 most enter at Matisse used and then have a diverse extended upgrade path. AM5 Raphael did better volume wise on q4 channel sales but the channel was holding up R5K Vermeer CPU pricing and they've let go recently. If you start at 5600 get extended platform life on the CPU and era GPU choices. Any of these platform upgrades offer stretch depending where u enter and will blow the Fx-6300 + 390 away and that is quite an upgrade and for the platforms mentioned on run end price with no Bios and driver adoption hassles. Wait if you want. I bought in June 2022 which I though was run end (it was not) 5800X + 6800 x570S, 32 GB with 512 M.2 Boot, 1 TB M.2 hot, x2 Enterprise 7500 2 TBs as a production system on the objective of ten year life and glad I did in relation to hassles. I bought at 7 nm purposely getting off the tech train wanting 7 nm transistor endurance subject 5 nm which was unknown at the time although popped here and there. mb

My new build was only about 800€ for a 7800X3D system with good aircooling at 32gb fast ram, bro gave me his 3060ti though. My LGC1 oled tv was 820€ last year and that's by far the biggest upgrade in my gaming/movie watching experience, that was easily worth the money. I would never touch a 100 buck display with a 10ft pole, the display is the main way you're enjoying your PC, don't botleneck your experience with a $hit display. You need BFI in particular as most games are stuck to 60fps anyway and BFI make 60fps look like 130fps with no fake frames or adding input lag. I also wouldn't buy a graphic card for around the same price as the display however. Nvidia is the biggest problem of PC gaming.
