I bought my Canik TP9SF Elite a few years ago for mainly two reasons. The trigger (excellent) and the price. I have not been disappointed, in any way, with it.

I own several Canik pistols, they are lot of bang for the buck. Never had any problems with them. I’m a M&P guy for EDC but I love all my guns

I have an mc9, I like it because its inexpensive, has a great (for the price) trigger, comes optics ready with cowitness sights, just generally has a lot of features that a much more expensive gun has for a very good price. Mine has been extremely reliable as well

I have a Canik MC9, with a Holosun EPS green dot. It's my EDC. Lightweight and easy to conceal. Oh, yes a good trigger.

A lot of folks don’t use trigger reset. I think most folks have never even heard about it. Use it, it works!✝️🇺🇸

I have the full size version of that pistol, the Canik METE SFT. And I think it's one of the best looking pistols out there. The MC9 is not ugly. I think Glocks are the ugliest pistols. That red dot on the back is the striker indicator, good feature for first time gun owners. I do agree the grip sucks on the MC9. But it can easily be fixed with a mag extender.

I really like my M&P Shield Plus as a quality affordable EDC. It’s surprisingly accurate and less snappy than other micro 9’s I’ve shot. It’s never had a malfunction. My large hands get a full grip with the 13 round mag and I bought a couple 15 round mags which are better. The trigger is nicer than a Glock. I got mine on sale for $315. Regular price is $399. Tough to beat.

Canik is a named after the place they built their factory, a mountain named canik and it means "a place of refuge" in Turkish

My tp9 sfx is a badass,and id put it next to any polymer pistol. It has been dominating the competition field.

Sometimes I budget pistol isn’t for the poor but for a sacrifice situation. When you know the pistol or rifle is going to take a beating that your “good piece” doesn’t deserve. Examples, salt water, mud, bottom of toolbox , yes always take care of your stuff but sometimes, you know sh*t will happen

All the Canik TP9 and Mete pistols are based on the Walther P99, just like the Walther PDP and PPQ. That's why they have that high bore axis and heavy slide.

I tried out the Canik cause its a lot like my favorite pistols (Walthers) The triggers, fit and fill are very close. Then I found it shot just as good.

That is one of the best triggers on the market. I own the tp9 sc elite and the mc9. love em both. Hurley welding makes baseplates for the mags that get rid of the notch at the bottom.

I like to find that reset as fast as I can after the shot breaks. By the time I’m back on target, I’m riding the wall. Works great. Changed my followups like nothing else. Be careful, though, you will burn through ammo!

To each his own. Like you I have too many CC handguns. I have a 365, SW shield plus, a Hellcat, a Ruger max 9. I still prefer to carry my MC 9. Best trigger, and most accurate for me. By the way, it's not as ugly as a Glock. Don't care what the name is, or the higher borax. I fixed the sights and grip for $15. But thanks for your free opinion. Now you have mine. I will check that Vanish holster out.

I own the Tp9 elite SC and its a really well balanced gun. A bit bulky for a sub-compact but the added weight pays off for recoil, and its still very carry-able. Also like the thin front fiber optic sight, which I prefer over the MC9, but both are great guns. Also I wanted to mention, I had problems with the MC9 not slide locking after the final shot of a mag from time to time...could be my grip of course, but I like to stay consistent, so I dont wanna change my perfect grip to cater towards a gun. Idk, just my two sense here. Love this review though and love the Canik brand.

I don’t like the Canik mc9 but there are some Great Caniks out on the market, the Canik Elite Combat is great imo, the trigger in the Elite Combat is Amazing

I bought this pistol last week it's my third canik, the other two I have have been excellent I've never had an issue through thousands of rounds.

Maintaining contact with the trigger will contribute to a more consistent trigger press and less movement in the pistol creating tighter groups. Perfect practice makes perfect.

I'd check any Canik trigger for the dreaded side push lockout. A lot of shooters under stress of "draw and shoot" will find the trigger will not pull due to the safety being inadvertently pushed to the side as the finger pulls and the trigger locks out. This was experienced by several peers and validated it myself... Weird, my Glock trigger fires even uder stress, and, if the Canik won't, I'd give the trigger a 0 out 10... If it locks out... check it snd see! You wouldn't want to find out the hard way your Canik won't fire...cause everyone doesn't have perfect trigger pull.

My brother bought a first gen M&P used (police trade) and the trigger started sticking to the rear after every shot, had to physically put his finger behind the trigger and push it forward to reset. He didn’t have a lot to spend on a new one so the guy at the local shop suggested the Canik. So far it’s proved to be good. Paid $375 for it used.

Caniks are great guns. They’ve been providing affordable, high quality pistols for over a decade. Solid reputation. Now their guns cost just about as much as Springfield, S&W, glock, cz etc. For a striker fired 9mm handgun canik has a model for any application you may need.

Canik is a Turkish manufacturer, it is named after a mountain (the name roughly translates to “a place of protection”) near their facility and is pronounced Jan-eek.

Canik now has 15 round mags that extend for the palm of the hand. Pricewise it is definitely cheaper than others. I find there is less recoil than the S&W Shield Plus, FN Reflex, IWI Masada Slim, and Mossberg MC2SC. Trigger is almost as good as a Walther - much better than the others previously mentioned. Accuracy is great at 7, 10, 15 yds for me - better than the others (but haven't shot a Hellcat yet).

For the price, I'd go with the PSA Dagger every time. A G19 clone. Your demeanor is hilarious. I love it!

I had a hard time holding onto it and the high bore access bothered me until… I put the large back strap on it. Pushed my hand up so much, the bore access felt fine after that. I also don’t have big hands but I find it way more comfortable. Shooting with all the mags feels just fine now. I will say buying the full size mag extensions do feel way better. Also threw a talon grip on it and it’s a great little shooter. Punches above its weight

From your comments, you carry the 43x or the sig macro? Yesterday PSA had the micro dagger with holoson 407k for 499$. How much is the Meta?

All micros are snappy. My opinion the MC9 has the less recoil then any other micro. Of course, I've shot most micros on the market. Really, I sold them all to add to my Canik collection. I love my Caniks. Good video.

You got to shoot the Canik TP9 Elite, great gun everything you’d need to fix on a Glock. Great trigger, the sights u need are there good grip, great gun. Have a Glock 26 and I’ll go with the Canik any day.

I have pretty much all of the polymer wonders. Eight of them are Caniks. They are some of my favorites if not my favorites. I think the METE line looks good. And the triggers are my favorite, even over my Walthers.

I have a SFX and a Mete SFT. Both in 9mm. The SFX is for competition's I don't compete in. The SFT is my truck gun. The triggers are fantastic.

The mc9 is absolutely not ugly lol I love my mc9! And it's my second canik they are great guns!

I’m on my second mc9 Canik sent a brand new one my way My first one was god awful Even FMJ were nose diving so hard on the feed ramp chunks were missing from the bullet 😂 This new one definitely has a different feed ramp on the barrel and the slide doesn’t feel as gritty. My first one I sent to canik they polished feed ramp and new spring but was awful. 650 rounds and I had a lot of malfunctions from rounds catching on feed ramp, out of battery issues and double feeding. 140 in with the new one only had issues with the first mag. Even shot TULA steel case 50 rounds ate it up. Fingers crossed because I love the gun. Their other models are fantastic idk why they didn’t get the mc9 right the first time

Holding your trigger after the shot and putting your sights back on target before releasing to reset is how you stop a flinch. Rifle shooting 101. Works for pistols also.

I had my son pick out a gun when he turned 18 and he chose the 5+ inch version of the Mete you're holding. I figured it would be expensive when he grabbed it so I was annoyed then it was cheap so I was also annoyed because I thought it would suck. It actually shoots pretty good and I bought another Canik 5" model that also shoots pretty good. The other one is black and grey and looks decent with a fiber optic sight. My wife really likes shooting the Caniks because the trigger is really light.

That’s a trigger reset, keeping on the trigger and letting off just enough that you hear the wall click ! It’s faster safer and smarter!

My first gun was the G3c stainless version for $300, now more like $400 with Lakeline/Galloway parts installed and the Hogue to plump up the grip, but the base minimum worked good for me. You can get them under $250 at some stores. If you're broke, it's a great option, but be sure to oil it real good, especially around the trigger bar and work the oil in.

I've never purchased one. But I took two in as trades. They're better devices from the box than my Glocks that I bought new. I have a dozen plus Glocks from Gen 1 through 5. The Canik TP9SF I took on trade for an old Mauser is better in the hand than any of my Glocks except the G31 Gen2 that was my daily carry for 20 years. That thing has so much work done to make it that good that it's insane.

It's a little extra money but if you put in a freedomsmith trigger in there, and the +4 magazine extensions from Taylorfreelance on the 2 12 round magazines all of your complaints are gone. If you really want to up it you can get the brass backstrap as well, don't need to touch any springs or internals and it becomes an insane little shooter.

Try gripping left thumb over right thumb. That’s a preference and it might not be yours, from my experience it may give you a little more grip strength, and it may resist recoil better. I like Canik’s, but I don’t have that gap on any of mine… you need a different mag that fills that space, that has to be as awkward as riding a moped backwards down a bumpy hill.

I've had a G2C(cheap mistake), an SD9(heavy trigger), tried the Sig M18. then moved to Glocks in the G43x/G48models and finally settled with the G19 the accent makes it waaay better! stay safe, brother

There's some thing I agree with and some I don't. I have the MC9 I got the desert tan slide I kind of like the look of it especially with the holosun on top with the TLR7 sub up front. Yes the bore access is high I agree with that and is a little difficult to handle but I've been training with the gun for a while now probably put over 1,500 rounds through it maybe more and haven't had not one issue with it. I carry it everyday and trust it with my life. The grip I agree with that is one thing I didn't really like but all in all I really like the gun.

I wasn't much of a fan of the MC9, but I did fall in love with my SFT. Flared mag well, backstrap options for a girthier grip, 20 round magazines. Fits my hand well. I also put a gas pedal from Align Tactical on it to reduce muzzle flip and Handle It grip tape to keep it from walking out of my hands.

You are a perfect match for the looks of this pistol! Works out for both of us! Takes ugly to know ugly, I know and if you don’t know look into a mirror real quick! Don’t break it.

At shot show Canik teased that they are going to be releasing an MC9 XL this summer, will be revealed at the NRA show in May. Chad, with his WEAK grip, may be able to control the recoil on the XL better. 😅

My MC9 is in my EDC rotation. I have the MeCanik M01 on it. I mostly carry the Hellcat Pro but I carry the MC9 as well as having the M&P Shield + and OG Hellcat

00:26 You’re slowly bringing the trigger back to the breakpoint rather than letting it fully reset. This allows for getting shots off faster and with more control if you practice a lot. I always thought Canik’s look pretty cool lol they look WAY cooler than Highpoints.

Every EDC of mine is more expensive then my mc9, but I Carry my mc9 because it's reliable as are many others, but I shoot it faster. I have a hilliker holster for it with the light and EPS carry. I did change the sights before I even shot it also with some warne sights I had laying around. My experience is good with this one.

(13:38 in) Chad I own 3 Caniks, but I will not and am not interested in that model your shooting. I perfer the TP9 Elite. Between that and let's say the TP9 Elite the difference in size is negligible and you gain so much IMO. Larger grip for a full purchase and a slightly longer barrel and sight radius. I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy the grip and shooting experience much more. If you want a duty size you should try the SF model it's even better. These models are CCW and duty, nothing fancy. Canik does have "race guns" but the standard fare does it for me. I know your not a fan of the higher bore axis, it certainly takes some getting used to If you're not accustomed to it. I just wish glock would come out with a 2.0 version with a revised grip angle that's more traditional. If they did that I'd buy one. Good review, critical but fair.

My first pistol was an inexpensive Ruger SRC 9mm and to this day it's still my favorite and most reliable pistol. My other vote for a economically friendly pistol would be the Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm

Canik MC9 is basically a slim micro compact Walther P99 copy with a PPQ trigger l silicone carbide the grip on mine l carry mine concealed the trigger is better than 80 percent of new striker firered pistol sold today l love mine runs like a clock absolutely no disappointed owning it or shooting it or relying on it to go boom over 1200 rounds through it it also shoots like a larger gun vs many other micros being sold today

Great video. Please give one of the full size Caniks a try /video review . I have the Rival and regularMete SFT. Excellent pistols. All my friends want to shoot my Caniks more than their own pistols. Put a Freedomsmith trigger shoe in it and it goes from very good to excellent!

Niles Johnson whom is a 30x world champion shooter run CANIK. I’m a VETERAN and currently LEO and shoot competitively. I compete in carry optics and I’d say the canik rival is the best Polymer Striker fired full size handgun.

Mete mc9 is a solid budget pistol, it’s accurate, affordable and reliable. Surprised that he had an issue gripping the pistol. I think it’s pretty ergonomic for the size. Even though it has a 3.1 inch barrel it’s about at big as an sig p365xl.

I’m running a Walther p38 AC44 it’s such a great design. It has all the features such as a loaded chamber indicator it has a decocker its innovative left hand ejection is the only pistol in it class that does it. Such a great design

Personally I like the grip. I do have small hands for a guy though. And the mag grip not going to the back I think is a good thing I think, makes it to where the mag won't hangup on your palm when dropping the mag. I'm sure it depends from person to person whether that would be a problem with other guns.

I think Gun Broker is the best way to get a 'budget' pistol. Find something used that works well for $200. I just got a police issue S&W .40 with three 15 round magazines for $194 including shipping cost/FFL. Works fine, shoots straight, and has a bit of history on it.

The trigger is better than the Glock for the same reason the XDM, and the Walther P gun triggers are better... Fully cocked striker upon closing.
