🌴 We booked our 5 free nights to Le Méridien Maldives. We will be going there late November for our honeymoon. Only catch for that resort so far is a mandatory $500 per person for round trip flights on their sea plane to get from airport to the resort itself. Which no big deal but I wish I could have used points to pay for that instead of cash.

🌴Just scheduled out 5 night certs from when the Boundless was running the 5 night intro.... Going to JW Marriot Camelback Inn & The Phoenician next month. Being new to the Marriot points game....lets talk about having to pay resort fees when using points....not cool lol...also intro bonus offer limitations between Chase/Amex is interesting for the Marriot cards.

I'm torn on getting the AMEX Bonvoy Business.. it's a great offer but I was planning on getting the Chase Bonvoy Boundless this year so I can get prepared to upgrade to the Ritz Carlton. If I get the AMEX first, then I need to wait 2 years before I can get the bonus on the Bonvoy Boundless due to the convoluted sign up rules right?

I own a business. What is the best card to run my expenses thru to earn free flights? Whether it be a personal card or business card. I can only use United, or American where i live

I would lean towards AA given the ease of earning status (video on that next week!) and also the value of their miles. United is fine but points have relatively flat value.

@@AskSebbyBusiness Just have no use for any citi cards. Maybe if I dabbled in online arbitrage the Costco citi biz card would be snatched up. Have no desire to enter Wyndham rewards either. 😅 I really dislike the 5/24 rule. Maybe it's time to focus more on business this year and financial freedom than chasing subs. Just hate having a year go by with no new cards. Sub addicts anonymous group here I come. 😅

@@AskSebbyBusiness I never have high expectations for stays in the U.S. It’s alright in that the area is nice and quiet, rooms are huge and face the ocean and the staff are nice which isn’t always the case for Miami. They’ve definitely got some maintenance issues and I think the breakfast buffet is a bit overrated. Definitely better than your average overseas QIA property and not a bad use for a 50K cert but nothing to write home about and I think the myriad of complaints on Marriott website are pretty accurate. On a side note basically nothing for sale at the AP or Rolex boutiques but they seem happy to take your info down. I think next time I’ll just go back to staying in Brickell/Downtown.

🌴 I was able to get the personal marriott card for the 5x nights and am using it for Hawaii. I had to use extra points to top off for the hotel price. I found the certificate only qualifies for the cheapest room option. I tried to apply for the busiess version but I got pop up jail. 😢 I’m also finishing up the citi personal AA card bonus. Not sure where to go next. If I don’t qualify for the Amex family rules, my only guess is IHG personal, Barclay AA and capital one venture X. Sebby did you win both citi premier card bonuses?

1) Yeah, certificates can definitely be annoying but still a ton of value if you don't mind searching. 2) Let me know if you get out of popup jail and what helps, if anything 3) IHG personal, Aeroplan, the other Chase cards if you want to farm. US Bank Altitude Reserve (downgrade path in Year 2), Barclays, or Venture X are also solid 4) No T_T

Depends on which on you have. Chase? Generally no. Amex = should be fine. @@tacticoolalan368 thank you, I’ll come with you! Lol I have the personal card and also have the companion certificate which is a huge value of it for me, so I was wondering if he didn’t mention it on purpose thanks for clearing that up. I got 730 in value last year in the cert and 1004 this year.

Didn't mention it since some people get angry when I do, since it's "not part of the intro bonus" (since you technically get it on the anniversary). What's your use case? :)
