Interesting to see Carp getting away with ejecting the hair rigged baits on Camera. I suspected they could do that. Just goes to show that even the hair rig is not perfect.

Great videos. Shows how clever carp get get avoiding the bait rig or quickly ejecting. Shows also that finding the fish, baiting are obvs key but then the right rig to not spook and actually hook it comes into play.

@danimationd8886 3 жыл бұрын
@@ARCSTREAMS no one knows if the bait was taken or not. So, you need to atleast pull it as short time as possible.. depens on place you are fishing. In here, in indonesia.. i was fishing on lake. Because theres a lot of small fish, i need to pull the bait out atleast after 10 or 20 minutes to check does my bait still there or not (if im using pellets). Or if my bait wasnt get eaten for atleast 30 minutes.. im gonna change my spot for fishing.
@ARCSTREAMS
@ARCSTREAMS 3 жыл бұрын
@@danimationd8886 he said the bait might be rejected or buried and therefore he needs to re bait or re cast somewhere else, so obviously if you are not getting any fish to take the bait be it because there are no fish around or because they are spitting it out silently then what is the point of re casting or baiting up again? as you can see from this video the carp seem to keep spitting out the bait ,if this is happening then you need to change to a better bait

It does make you wonder the times you've sat behind your rods on any venue for hours, biteless, and thought, "There are no carp in this lake", when you see carp picking up the bait and immediately discarding it without registering a single "bleep" on your alarms or just completely avoiding your bait but eating everything else 8-((... 25 years ago, I lived in a house that backed onto a weir section of the River Avon in Warwickshire. No boats came down 200yd this stretch and no one ever fished it. bar me for chub and barbel. One summer, a group of 8 or so carp moved into an area under some overhanging bushes, just below a large patch of lily pads. I never fished for them, but almost every evening, I'd be down on the bank catapulting out broken off pieces from a slice of bread to them. I recall one piece of bread, 50p size, landing on a pad that was 1/3rd submerged and half of this piece of the bread was in the water, but remained on the pad. The carp came out and ate the free offering that were almost stationary behind the pads and out of the current. But one carp I noticed, broke from the group and started to move into the pads and I watched as it make a bee line right up to where this piece of bread that was on the pads. It took the bread right away. They have one hell of a sense of smell!! I had as much fun doing this, than I did actually fishing for carp at other venues 8-))... The largest carp, then, would have weighed well into the high teens. Sadly, heavy flooding in the winter, and the carp must have moved on. I never saw them again. Though it still makes me wonder whatever became of them 8-\\...

@@jmac5861 If anglers think that fish do not smell bait, then they are seriously warped. Eels for instance, have a sense of smell that'll make any bloodhound die of jealousy. And a shark's sense of smell is damn good too. Have you ever seen those wildlife programmes where they have a shark in a huge tank and they emit a small drop of blood from a tiny vent? See how quickly sharks hone in on that vent. And when are the majority of large fish caught? Night time. Why? Because they cannot see what they're eating and by only using their sense of smell, they do not see anglers lines or shoddy end rigs that scare fish off during the day. If you ever go carp fishing and use pop up baits. Try this. On one rod, have a white flavoured pop up boilie. on the other rod, have a white piece of cork the same size and shape as your boilie. See which rod gets bites and which one does during the day AND night time.

Why are so many carp getting away? Is the hook too small to catch on?

I love seeing the crawfish in this video in "defensive mode". It's exactly how the craw imitation bass lure I use does when it sits on the bottom, claws up.
