I echo sentiment of dietary restrictions. Mine is I'm severely lactose intolerant, so almost all of the recipes, I wouldn't/couldn't even dare consider, but find myself watching too each & every video. Weird, huh?

My dad’s side of the family came from Russia a hundred years ago, and they brought a family favorite recipe with them. We ate it all the time when I was a kid, but we never made it for company because it sounds weird to most Americans. You cook a whole box of pasta, be it egg noodles, rotinis, penne, or whatever short noodle is your favorite. We traditionally use the medium Shell noodles. Once you cook the noodles al dente, you drain them, add them back into your pot, still hot, and add a stick of butter, melt it in and mix well. Then add a 16oz container of cottage cheese. Stir up, and serve immediately. Top with black pepper, or Italian dressing if you want. I eat it plain, with steamed spinach. Noodles & Cottage Cheese dinner is so simple, but yummy🥰

Really simple "trick" for easily taking the grease out of ground beef....leave it in the pan and swirl around a couple of clean paper towels! Works like a charm👍👏👏👏

What I do to take the grease out of the ground beef is I strain it with a strainer I don't like that grease yuk

@@KL-hp1gg That definitely works well but I prefer this little tip that I saw from a lady here on KZfaq. Then you don't have to worry about the grease in your pipes or finding a place to put it...just toss the paper towel in the trash 👍

Since you're loving egg noodles, if you need a quick easy side dish, saute some garlic in butter, toss it over cooked egg noodles and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. It's so good!

Nancy..also cook the noodles in chicken broth..I add knorr bouillon to water..after draining..add heaping tbl spoon sour cream..red crushed pepper..butter..plus your additions

Hey Bunkers. I've Made That Chicken Noodle Casserole before yes it's Heavenly. I add Corn in mine and it's even Better. I've even Crumbled Bacon pieces up and put in it with Broccoli. There's So many ways to fix this one. Hope Y'all have a truly Blessed Week. Love from Indiana. 😍

I made the sour cream noodle bake and it was so creamy and delicious. The omitted the green onions, cottage cheese and cheddar cheese. Instead, I added 2 fresh garlics, 1 block of softened cream cheese and Monterrey cheese.

I love your in-laws screened-in porch! The sour cream noodle bake reminds me of a lazy lasagna. Maybe add Italian seasoning to the beef mixture (or use marinara instead of tomato sauce)? My mama always used cottage cheese instead of ricotta in her lasagna as it is cheaper. We also always have cottage cheese with Sloppy Joe's and plain potato chips. I always made mine into nachos. Lol. Cottage cheese is delicious also with ripe tomatoes and salt and pepper. :)

I am not the biggest fan of cottage cheese but grew up eating it in lasagna. My aunt uses it as a side dish and just adds it to her plate at dinner

I have been dying to fix this for my family...it's in the oven now! I just hope I got it all right because I am not really the cook in the house, but I am trying to do more. So far other things I have tried, it has been successful, very much so and I have to say it feels really good to be the one feeding my family a good meal. I have always let my anxiety over "will it be good or not" take hold, but I am ditching that meal by meal. So, here is to my first time with this!

I bet you could add a bag of petite English peas to the last casserole and that would add a lot of nutrients without the broccoli smell. I like broccoli and probably eat it 3 to 4 times a week, but I just think the peas might work better here. Oh, and I LOVE Bunky's mother's screened porch! Please tell me it also has a tin roof for the perfect rain listening environment.

The sour cream noodle bake is going on my meal plan for sure! Easy, cheap, filling, and since there are only 2 of us, leftovers or a freezer meal. If you have never tried it, look for her lasagne rollups recipe, a little more work but so worth it. She has homemade meat sauce for it but you can cheat and use a good quality jar of sauce, try Yo Mama’s brand, expensive but amazing.
