The Denon DCD 600 NE may well be very good for the money, but I'll wager their 1600 NE is in a totally different league - and should be for the extra cost! However, for me - and other owners of a highly resolving headphone system especially (and using coax out to a really good DAC), the 1600 is well worth it and a no-brainer if you're into seriously good sound reproduction.

Where do you get this misinformation from? How does the Marantz CD6007 function as a Pre-amplifier? I see no mention of an 'integrated equaliser' in the manual. It does not even have a volume control, except for the headphone output.

Yamaha CD-S1000BL is nearly nowhere available, the Pionoeer PD50ae is. Perhaps the new Rotel CD-11 mkII should now be listed too during the solid firmware of the loader and the new DAC construction.

These are not remotely close to being the “best” cd players. These are all relatively entry level convenience audio. The best cdps have not changed for years. Go back 15 years and the best then remains the best now…the AR reference7 cdp. This is just an advert for cheap audio…are you just selecting from spec sheets and reading from maker’s literature? How much are they paying you to present these budget kit adverts?
