One of my favorite parts of his character is when he's talking to that drug addled homeless dude at the bus stop And is genuinely just like talking to the dude and isn't judging him, despite him being very poor and unwashed

One of my favorite parts in that episode is when Bobby says: "I do think I'll give room service a jangle" and then Hank throws all of Bobby's clothes out of the window.

This character is so good he literally upstaged Meryl Streep.

I get his lines stuck in my head all the time. "I've always been a creeper," "a gentlemen must learn the difference," "I knew him, briefly" "sinners always look good," "35 years." I mean basically the whole video haha

The way he says "35 Years" when asked how long hes been on the couch sounds like a prisoner serving a double life sentence

That Kudzu vines line was brilliant, they really are spreading all over the Southeast states

I never laughed so much so hard nonstop in a KOH episode. This character was great and Bobby immediately trying to be like him perfection.

What i like about him is that he brings a lot of context for bills general behaviour and quirks. Hes like a foil. We know bill has a strange feminine streak like liking how silk feels on his skin and the "pretty pretty dresses" line plus him joining the chorus in that one episode, but most importantly, both bill and gilbert LOVE misery and cant even comprehend being happy, plus neither are family men at all. The difference is that gilbert makes the misery work for him, he knows how to style it so makes him more mysterious and cool and untouchable, while bills misery is gross and lame.

The cat hiss with Violetta doesn't get enough credit.

What I would have given for Gilbert to live in Luanne's old room in the Hill house for one full season.

"Now how long you been sittin' there?" (exhales) "...Thirrrty-fiiive years." Love this show. Unlike The Simpsons or Family Guy, this show feels "comfortable", if that's the right word for it. This, the "Hank is a trucker" and the "can't get back on the boat" episodes are amongst my favorites.

The only problem with this video is that I can't like it more than once.

David Herman was one of the unsung heroes of King of the Hill as well as Futurama. I’ll never forget the time he voiced Morris in the episode where his daughter finally knew her parents.

One of the rare cases where Hank isn't completely oblivious to innuendos.

The one time Bill has a chance of getting lucky and he can't do anything without risking inbreeding.

The scene later in the episode where Hank puts his foot down and stops Bobby's "Cajun phase", chucking all the clothes that Gilbert gave to him right off the hotel balcony, still makes me laugh. Hank truly saved Bobby from many, many swirlies back at school.
