Best Cold Air Intake for 8Y Audi RS3! Sound, Price and Temperature Review

👋 After installing three different intakes on our 2024 8Y Audi RS3, lets compare everything! So I have tested the MST Cold Air Intake, Armaspeed Intake, and the ECS Tuning Intake. All of these intakes for the 8y Audi RS3 range in price from about $550, $750, and $1,300. Each kit offers a different style and sound and their price points make sense. The MST is the most cost effective. This kit fits all Audi RS3 models. If you have a newer car with the plastic corrugated recirc pipe, you will need to buy the additional adapter. The ECS Tuning air intake comes with an adapter to fit all year RS3 models and even has a carbon intake tube. The Armaspeed intake is available in two version. We helped develop a new tube for the updated RS3 models with the plastic pipe. So just make sure you know what you car needs. Armaspeed is full carbon and an inclosed air box to give you identical to stock intake temperatures. Sounds very nice too. ECS and MST have a more open heat shield design so they are a tad louder. But also get just a tad higher intake temps. About 5 degrees more then what I found on Armaspeed. The MST heat shield is a bit smaller than the ECS, so it maxed at 10 degrees higher than Armaspeed. You really only see that if the car has sat a bit after being driven. But they still cool down quickly. ECS and MST are bit louder too. Really depends on the style you like and the material you like. All are great and I never had any issues with any of these kits on our car.

How would it give more power if the temps are higher or the same as stock?

Better flow. Less restrictions for the turbo to spool quicker. Even a few degrees higher in temps won’t really for anything negative for power. On my Supra once tuned. The intake alone gave it 20 more HP in the top end over the stock box

Would love to see you try the Eventuri intake. It’s expensive but would be willing to pay if it is justified by performance over the competition. Does anyone have first hand experience?

Yeah those look cool. But it won't do anything different then the Armaspeed kit to be honest. Just paying for the name

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I appreciate the advice and perspective. I just spoke to a manager of a local Audi who is a friend and he told me yesterday that any mods including ABT and APR “could” result in a denial of any warranty coverage. He said it’s hit and miss and not enforced equally. He told me that he has personally seen Audi deny engine issues on warranty because someone added lowering springs and it was a 3 year lawsuit. I check the ABT website also and USA is not covered under there warranties. All the European countries are, but not America.

@@boydmarvitz2531 Yeah it definitely depends on the dealer. However they need to be able to prove the mods caused the issue. So depends on how much they’ll push it and blame anything

It sounded like you said intake temps were same as stock or higher. Isn’t this supposed to reduce temps?

No intake will actually reduce temps. All cars have a very well insulated stock intake.

@@BioHackGaming Keep in mind it have the microphone in the the engine bay for those clips. In the cabin you can barely hear it. With the intake you can hear it very well in the cabin

I cant tell you right now i got the integrated engineering one. I regret it. You have to cut multiple things to make fit. HUGE pain. If i knew that i would of spent the same money on AWE's.

Oh dang! As of now AWE is out of stock on these still developing them. But all of these are easily available

I had CTS, AWE, IE and I have a eventuri sitting in the garage. The IE intake is amazing, you should have been given an diverter valve adapter to make it all fit properly. IE and Eventuri are amazing intakes. I've never even heard of the 3 this video talks about
