There are plenty of beaver traps on the market, but of course there is only one best. I'll clarify this as I'm referring to the best conibear beaver trap. I do love my snares and footholds for beavers, but when it comes to conibears, I'm a huge fan of Belisles. I love their safety catches, best around, and safest, which you want when dealing with this size and strength of trap. I also love how the jaws close completely, this has resulted in multiple catches for me that with any other trap I would have lost. I've trapped beavers by the foot and tail in Belisles, no other trap would hold that well. They are more expensive, but I'm a firm believer that they will pay off in the end with more catches. I've been using other brands for years. I spent the money, and bought my 1st Belisle 330 this week. All I can say is, "WOW!"

i agree 100% i only buy belisle traps for the reasons you stated better safeties and the springs dont flop around !

I agree fully! Been useing the duke 330 mags for a long time and they are JUNK as far as I am concerned. Tired of the jaws bending after every catch and then have to beat them out straight. Even when they were new. Safeties always falling off. They are a joke. I will probably get the belisle because they are easier to get. Was a toss up between the belisle and ldl. Can only buy the ldl out of Canada and they are very expensive. Good vid bud. You went over that very well!!

Thanks. The safeties alone would sell me. I don't know why none of the other manufacturers have switched to a better safety catch. Those hooks are junk.

Don't know if you use them or not but I got a bridger coni safety's. Sleepy creek makes one also, same style. The snare shop makes one but a different style and a little more than twice the money. Anyways they are worth the money, no matter what coni you use. Better safe than sorry bud. For 5 or 6 dollars just may save an arm.....Richard from Kansas

I like them. I done some damage control for otter for a boat dock. The owner had a dz of 220 belisle. He said if I caught the otter out for him. I ended up catching 5 otters. The dock was in 40ft water. I came up with 2 ways to catch them. I got the 220's plus 5 otters. Armadillos in the belisle r stone deaded. Not with the dukes still alive some of them. My next belisle r going to be 3dz 160's.

I've got some 160s and I love them. They are hard to beat, I know I won't be ordering anything but Belisle!

Question about the belisle 330. How long have you been useing them and how many catch's with them. I haven't had a bad report on them at all but one. My best friend has in the past has had bending problems with them, but that has been some time ago. I was thinking that belisle made some changes in them a couple years ago on improving on some problems that they were having including the triggers. All he uses now are the ldl's. They are a cadillac, but so is the price and can only order them out of Canada. I do believe without looking that the belisle is a little cheaper in price and can order them here in the U.S. Oh, by the way, is your name Brad? Thanks much...............Richard from Kansas

I've been using them about 3 years now. Started with the 280s cause I was catching otters and beavers. Got some 330s for good measure. Probably took 100 or so with them so far. No issues yet but they are still fairly new

Could you measure the opening on them when set? I know they are 10x10 when not set, but with the bend in the jaws I would think that it would be a bit smaller. Just looked at Ramconnection.com and them ldl 330 mags are $35 apiece. Holy crap, to much money for this ole man. How much was your belisle's? Sorry for all the questions buddy.......Richard from Kansas

+richard murray Just measure them. My 330s set are 10" tall and just over 8" wide with the spring eyes. So you don't lose anything with the bend. I bought mine from Minnesota Trapline Products. They run $30 each

Yep I looked at MTP last night. 30 is right bud, thanks much. So without the spring eyes they are 10" on the width? I like that 10" even with the bend, nothing lost on the opening that way. Makes it more inviting for the beaver and less refusals. You have been a great help on me making my decision on what brand I am going to go with. As long as the frame on the width is still 10" I will buy the belisle. Thank you so much for responding ya razorback.......Richard from Kansas
