I bought my first battery blower, well first blower period I chose battery because it’s a lot quieter than gas and it’s simple charge and go and I don’t disturb my neighbors I chose ryobi because I own ryobi one plus tools and with the blower at least I can share it’s battery with another 40v tool like chainsaw which is next on my list

I bought both the 750 CFM Ryobi and the 765 CFR EGO. Did some tests of my own and ended up keeping the EGO and returning the Ryobi. The Ryobi is pretty good, but I like the EGO better for the following reasons: 1. Clearly more powerful and seems to push leaves and debris a further distance 2. One problem with the Ryobi is you cannot rest it against your waist/leg as the air is sucked in from the back end. The air is sucked in from the side on the EGO. I find my self positioning the back end of the blower on my upper leg as the force of the blower tends to push it backward. 3. The EGO has two handles on the side which are helpful for tilting the blower when you are in a tight space. The pros for the Ryobi is that it comes with two batteries, is less expensive as are it's replacement batteries. They are both very good and I think people would be happy with either unit.

Both great blowers but for me I'd take the Ryobi for one simple reason, it's amazingly quiet. You really have to hear difference in person to appreciate the difference between a "normal" blower and the Ryobi Whisper series.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. kzfaq.infoUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

Ego also have a 765 kit with 2 batteries for about $120 more. Comparing batteries the 40v x4Ah Ryobi provides 160Wh of power while the 56v x 5Ah Ego provides 224 Wh of power. That’s why EGO takes longer to charge and lasts much longer on the low speed. For higher speed tests it’s normal the RGO has lea advantage since it’s much more powerful, the leaves were moving much better with the EGO in the video. If the leaves move better then the time to clear will be shorter. For me the EGO is the clear winner in time to clear the yard which is the point of having a blower. You didn’t show how the flat nozzle works on the EGO, it would be nice to see what it has to offer. Also the strap is a nice addition.

There is no doubt the EGO is more powerful, it does have far more Wh than the Ryobi. When I was looking to make a purchase it was at the top of my list but i ultimately chose the Ryobi because I was coming from a convertible gas powerhead and still had all my attachments. EGO made it so you could not use existing attachments on their convertable powerhead and that was a deal breaker for me. Their attachments were overpriced in my opinion. In real world use, I can trim edge and blow all I need to on one battery with the Ryobi and still have 2 bars left so I'm happy. Thank you for your video.

Having owned both Ryobi mowers and other tools, and Ego mower and tools, I've noticed that my Ryobi battery life wasn't great... The batteries ended up losing run time within a year and a half of consistent use, I found my mower not being able to complete my lawn on one charge halfway into my second year with the product. My Ego mower and tools have had a year of consistent use, and I haven't really noticed any drop off for battery capacity.

@@TheLawnReview The OPE definitely benefits from having 40 volt brushless motors... Their is no comparison when it comes to their use in lawn mowers ,trimmers, blowers and chainsaws. My lopper, small oil less 8" chainsaw and 22" hedge trimmer are 18 volt all of the rest of my OPE I've long since upgraded to the 40 volt platform. I own 8-40volt batteries(4~6 Ah) and 13-18 volt batteries(2~6 Ah) so run time is never an issue. I have been thinking about buying the EGO, but now I’m considering the Ryobi for the following reasons. It one with two batteries which if you add them together has a longer run time, unless you buy a extra one for the EGO which will cost you $500. Also les wear and tear with two batteries should last longer. The Ryobi is quieter probably because it is not quite as powerful. The nozzle with the variable speeds that you indicated that once you cut them you can’t go back is no big deal, just don’t cut them. You can control the air flow with the variable speed. I’m now conflicted as I was thinking about the EGO. But it will come down to the power for me as I want a blower that can blow some light snow. Great video, keep them coming.

I know I'm late to the game. I ended up buying an ego blower because it was on sale, but I am considering switching over to Ryobi because I already have the trimmer, mower, and snow blower. I got the trimmer first and absolutely love it. It works with universal attachments where the ego doesn't. I have A LOT of attachments that I got used for dirt cheap. The incompatibility with the attachments is what is keeping me from moving over to Ego. You are stuck with the ego string trimmer attachments and they are super expensive.

Hi, I know this video was done some time ago, but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your video. I love your comparison tests, and you had a lot of fun doing it. I specifically wanted a comparison between these two blowers because, these are the most popular ones used by most Car Detailer’s. The comparison between the two is very close, and the decision is even harder, but I do know that I will definitely be buying one of these two blowers. A lot of the Detailer’s seem to like the EGO, because of the power, it will dry the car much faster, and better in some of those hard to reach areas. (Just made my mine up as I was typing this) I will get the EGO, because of the following two points: from your comparison the battery does last longer than the Ryobi’s, and also since it is more powerful I should be able to dry the car faster, which means that I can turn the blower off faster, which should make the battery last longer. I will also see if I can purchase a second battery for the EGO, which will also help. Thanks again, Dexter H.

Those were my two top choices. I went with the EGO 765 CFM because its handling is much better (handling is important since both are heavy). The balance of the EGO is much better than the Ryobi when the battery is installed. That's because the EGO naturally points downward when you hold it whereas the Ryobi wants to point upward. Also, the two rails on the bottom make the EGO much easier to maneuver when you need to position the blower with two hands for trickier applications. That's why auto detailers prefer the EGO form factor. EGO also sells a stubby auto-detailing nozzle - not sure if Ryobi does.

Great review. Some things I observed. In the case of the Ryobi, I happen to have a Ryobi backpack blower along with two 4 & 6 ah batteries. Ryobi 6 amp hour batteries last significantly longer and have a more powerful Max and nominal voltage performance. So it was not surprising to see the e-go with 56v own it but I will admit I was a bit disappointed. I expected more. Another thing worth mentioning is that though Ryobi advertises the handheld blower as being its most powerful; it's not. The backpack blower is more powerful. A test was conducted that compared the two and the backpack crushed it. That's why I bought it over the handheld. The backpack blower will also blow about 25 minutes on turbo with two 6 amp hour batteries. Ryobi now makes 12 amp hour batteries so theoretically one should run for about 50 minutes and being that it would be running 12ah batteries once again the Max and nominal voltage supply to the unit would be a little higher than any of the smaller batteries. Just food for thought For the record E-go also has a backpack blower that is probably more powerful than it's top performing handheld unit.

Quite often when getting into battery powered tools you choose a brand and stay with them because of the batteries working with various tools that you buy. So if you have a string trimmer and blower and hedge trimmer etc. you will already own multiple batteries to run as long as you want.

I like the Ryobi 730 CFM blower so much that I bought another one. I use one for starting to blow snow from the house's front door so that I don't leave footprints on the deck, the stairs, and the ramp, on my way to the car in the front and one for starting from the garage to blow snow away from the garage doors and from the pickup truck parked in the back. I even bought 2 more 6 ah batteries. I now have 33 battery-powered tools...some DeWALT and most Ryobi. The Ryobi blower is more powerful than my Stihl gas blower. The new Ryobi blower comes with 2 tips but I just leave both blowers with the 190 mph tip mounted.

@@TheLawnReview I built my 32' x 32' x 10' garage in 2014 and, for some strange reason that I cannot remember, I never insulated the roof and the gables as I did with the wall and the doors. In preparation for insulating the roof, I bought 4 Ryobi battery staplers: a regular crown staple gun, a narrow crown stapler, an 18 gauge brad stapler, and a 16 gauge finish nailer. The guy who did all the work liked the crown and narrow crown stapler. I already had the DeWALT table saw and DeWALT compound miter saw. R13 insulation was nowhere to be found and so we used two layers of R11 insulation with wood furring strips to increase the height for the extra layer of 4" insulation. We topped that with a layer of 1/8" foil foam insulation for its reflective value and topped everything with 1x2" wooden stripes every 2 feet to keep everything in place so that nothing could sag. We ended up with an insulation value of R24 and It keeps everything toasty warm. With all the powdery snow, I love the Ryobi 40-volt, 190 mph, and 730 CFM "leaf" blowers.

Really like your presentation style, and the quality of your video. Really a unique testing approach and style. I had to ‘replay’ the spinning chair segment couple of times, priceless! I dont know if you’ve already given these away, but I just bought the Ryobi, based on this and a few other reviews. BTW, Ryobi gives you two of those tips, so you can have an extra one, or have two cut for two different speeds. And by cutting the tip, you lose MPH, but gain CFM. Both of these are good units, and I hope us Consumers will benefit from ever increasing performance and battery advances. Lowe’s VS Home Depot; EGO VS Ryobi, is what it comes down to, not to mention the platform, like you said. Your channel must be new, but you deserve more Subscribers. I just HIT that Subscribe button! I am an EGO user. If you are on the roof doing the gutters having a battery that last 9 minutes longer vs getting down to get that second battery makes a world of difference. I do not run on full turbo but only use it on wet leaves or deep piles. I have had one issue with my EGO and that was the 5ah battery. Two and half years in, it stopped. I contacted EGO and they sent out a new battery that week, no charge.

EGO in my opinion still stands head and shoulders above the rest due to their battery platforms available with good motor assemblies and selection of equipment that works with it. It has matured over the last 5-10 years at a pace above the others including Home Depot’s house brand Ryobi. I hear they will even have a 12aH battery coming which for a blower is too heavy but for some other devices is crazy in terms of current and longevity that can be provided. Remember they were an exclusive at HD and were dropped…probably due to HD assuming their venue is the only premiere store which is waning more and more with homeowners and Amazon convenience.

Great video. How do the overall handling of each compare? I know it’s close. Is there one of these two that is just easier to handle/hold when using? Does one put less strain on your wrist/arm? The way the Ryobi seems to flare out in the back, makes it seem more cumbersome, compared to the EGO, is it? Unfortunately the big box stores may have display models, but you get actually rest them. Thanks!

Based on a 40v architecture, a 4ah battery is storing 160 watts times 2 batteries for a total of 320 watts for the Ryobi; the Ego comes with a single 5ah battery on a 56v architecture for a total of 280 watts. The Ryobi includes 14.3% more battery power storage based on these shipping configurations. Seems like push overall when comparing just these tools. The real question is "Which battery ecosystem offers the best overall value when comparing all the tools you might use?" Mower, trimmer, edger, chainsaw, pole saw, snow thrower... Once your committed to an ecosystem, it makes way more sense to stay in that ecosystem even if one particular tool might slightly under-perform a rival.
