@@tentrot4420 In my experience, different cultures address people differently. I cannot talk on behalf of Vishal, but in a lot of cultures addressing someone as sir is a sign of respect; or a way to address someone more experienced than yourself.

-Great content Professor David ... !!! -Then, CTFs are for the Cyber Security Professional what the Packet Tracer or GNS3 is for the Network Engineer. -Safe virtual environments for training what is going to be done in the real environment. -Now you installed the Packet Tracer you already know everything ...? - Of course, you don't have to learn the theory before, normally or a class or book like I did with Professor David's courses, then go to practice at Packet Tracer. -So I see the CTFs they are a practical way, but before that the person has to have the basic skills (Linux / Windows Admin. And CLI scripts in the systems, network base, DevOp, Python Scripts) and then go to face the practice. -Without this basis, the CTF will be decorating invasion techniques, just as without a network theory, a network engineer will only be repeating commands without understanding why. -I at least see it that way: build the basic skills step by step, this year after taking the certifications of Linux Ad, Windows Ad, and DevOp, yes, as I already have CCNA (my base is network and hardware) and python and years in a military security environment, and then yes, putting this together, I will start study Cyber Security in next year. -But this is how I'm going to make, but my wife do it differently, she started in Python, and goes to Django and the web, then go to Linux Ad. And Windows Ad. and only then go to Cyber Security. -There is no single path for became Cyber Security professional. -Thanks for the knowledge .... !!!

Hi David, HTB lately they have added a training part where you can create an account and start studying free but after a while, you will have to spend a bit of money to get more training. I am planning to try it sometime in the future.

What are your thoughts on the security benefits of TailsOS, QubesOS versus Kali, parrot or Ubuntu ? Keeping in mind that parrotOS and Ubuntu are harder to verify the digital signature (for authenticity)

I’ve heard that the only difference between Kali and ParrotOS are the tools that are installed. QubesOS separates tasks by running separate VMs. I’m not sure about Tails only that it can be ran on a portable device so it wouldn’t track anything. I know it uses the TOR browser, which masks where the traffic is coming from. Hope this helps!

Personally, I love try hack me as their mission is to make you learn. I love vulnversity, the cod caper(not the priv esc) and skynet(not the priv esc). I'm pretty bad at priv esc, I only know stuff such as suid, cron jobs and stuff I can run without a password. Btw I use gtfobins for priv esc. It's like a gold mine for priv esc :)

HackTheBox is way harder than Vulnhub and TryHackMe. But Some Vulnhub machines are pretty hard and great! But some are too focused to CTF style while hackthebox is generalized and more interesting.

Feedback guys- ok I am 35 yr old welder/machinist. Bought my first laptop 3 about 3 years ago. Granted I code CNC but I'm Making a career change. I TRY HARD!!!! But within this sector of IT and rapid technological innovation trying harder is NOT the way! I think we should attack this situation with more mentorship & apprenticeship. Machinist have mentors. I agree a blend is needed but telling us n00bs to try harder I don't think will help out industry. Many of these kids had laptops in HS and learned within classes where they has classmates to ask questions. Where as myself. I'm alone. So i may get stuck and IM TRYING HARD FOR 2 WEEKS! 😀😉🖤🌹 ✍🙏🖤🌹 I try harder than probably most people. So I have tenacity and I don't give up. But I can see how that would deter many people which is why our industry has such a low number of people.

@@davidbombal I think they are slowly from my personal experience. After all I didn't walk up to a CNC and TRIED HARD than all sudden I knew how to run and program it. Rather I had a master teacher take me under his wing. I'm a n00b here but I'm into teaching and helping this sphere become better. Love your videos! Your one of those masters I've noticed and follow your advice. :D

Yes but also no well you, see currently there isnt that much of vulnerabilities in operating systems currently you have 3 options an old os to practice on or a sort of a ctf but they are mostly websites bec there may be vulnerabilities in them or sometime some sort of a wordlist attack
